Shit, I hope it's nothing like that at all...would hate to see something like that in the game.

Well, didnt Jack become a Big Daddy in the final part of the game.
That always bothered me, Jack going back to the "normal" world being half a Big Daddy with his voice implant etc completely ignored.

Sucks though, tbh. I'd prefer to be a totally different character instead of being a Big Daddy. Unless you START as one and then lose the suit somewhere in the game (surgery perhaps?)

The "first ever" Big Daddy part is a little confusing since the game is set 10 years after the first.

Unless the you are some sort of escaped Big Daddy prototype that turns returns to Rapture 10 years after the events of the original game? Confused

Not really a spoiler but might contain some gameplay elements so skip this if you want.

Your some other character this time, mentioned in the post in the link I gave on the previous page.

Seems more fun than the game's combat mechanics.

Screw that! There is a chance that it could be an awesome game. I would prefer for the developers to at least try than just not bother.

Sadly the vita-chambers are back, albeit with a slightly modified mechanic. It's all part of their "don't punish the player" philosophy. Isn't that what encourages a player to improve, punishment for failure?

Hopefully they've addressed the obvious abuse potential of a 'no penalty' respawn system in a FPS, but I doubt it.

How would you like them to address this "problem"? Make it so when you die you have to replay half the level again from the last checkpoint? No thanks. Maybe you like your games being virtually extended because you have to replay half the level after death, I don't. I'll take "don't punish the player" system.

How about just taking it out entirely. They already let you save were you want, that works perfectly well on it's own in other games.

It isn't the type of FPS shooter where saving the game ruins the flow of the action.

I was loooking forward to this....

but that video let me down.

I dont have a sense of being a big Daddy, he moves the same speed or a tad slower. Hes not taller, there isnt shit shaking and sand trickeling from the walls.

It looks very boring, the drill kill was an epic fail of something cool they could have done.

Question.. Do you play as a big daddy throughout the whole game?

ok so im not reading anything on this game as I want a surprise but seriously, going off the story and shit from the first, how does a story revolve around a big daddy when all they do is roam a near abandoned city protecting a little sister.

Well obviously the protagonist big daddy is going to be unique, that's like asking how you can play a scientist in Half-Life when all they do is study academia.

Apparently you play the first big daddy, a prototype, that doesn't have the behavioural conditioning of the others and hence can exert some free will. Though I expect you'll be following other characters orders throughout most of the game.

This really confuses me, as the game supposedly takes place 20 years after the original game.
