Its getting near-on 2010 and nfohump still looks like a 2001 forum Very Happy

We need a new design + logo imo.

Other than the name, I think the site is fine the way it is. Simple BUT functional .. why jazz it all up?

(other than the search function... god that's a clusterfuck actually trying to find something, especially on mega-topics with 10s of pages)

I think the search is pretty much fine now that you can actually search thread titles only Smile

I'm sure if people came up with new buttons / logos / emoticons etc. Rinze would be happy to implement some of them...

So why not give it a shot?

All this bitching, but no action. Sigh - don't complain if you're not bothered to make the changes yourselves people!

NEVER change the current design! I know some forums that would kill to have this sublime simplicity.

If it works why break it?

Is there a way to tke care of the huge images that break the layout ? Can images above a certain size be resized automatically ? (I've seen this in other forums)

P.S.: The layout is fine, hehe.

Keep it the way it is. Classic, traditional. Doesn't need to change. Fine the way it is.
Easy navigation, search is fine etc

Leave it the way its been for the last 8 years.

It would blow if it turn into a flash site or a stupid Facebook style site.

I've had a new design ready for well over two years now and while overall it looked very slick and more "Web 2.0" it never really felt as streamlined as this version.

It was also very dark and fixed width which looked like it was going to cause issues in certain places.

That's not to say it's been abandoned, but due to work commitments with myself and other admins it's been on permanent hiatus.

Ah, I couldn't find the TnB stuff anymore so I thought it was abandoned, please give me the design and I'll see if it can be implemented as optional skin first.

Was never really started fully. It was just a finished HTML pages skinned. Needed php'ing etc. The skin is complete but me and [mrt] hit a stumbling block over the colour scheme for the content.

I'll dig it out and see if I can get it in a state where it's useable for the forum.

It was still a similar colour scheme, maybe slightly darker, but a switch around. Blues for the framework, Greys and Silver for the content (with dark text).

yeah but the content being blue is the key Wink I think the actual blue/silver/white colour scheme is great, but the actual design looks a little old school.

This is the only copy I can find right now - created in 2007!
The version we were going to use didn't look like this, but it was similar and gives you an idea on where I was going with it. (and yes, it's only a teaser)

The other version must be on my work PC somewhere. I'll dig it out and see about finishing it off. It wont look like that teaser. That was just to give an idea of the design(s) that had been planned.

Although over the years the site has had a lot of skins I have probably created two skins for every one that goes live. Some look good but just don't fit the content. Tabled data is hard to make pretty!!
