Ok bitches , so i made a thread a a while ago about how i was about to upgrade my speakers from the x-530 to the ZZ550 and wanted to know how the Audigy 2 ZS compared with the modern sound cards. I decided to not upgrade the sound card and just recently got my Z5500. (for a whooping 150$, Used but like brand new. Ah the joy of working in a pawn shop Cool ) but now i realized that i won't have a choice since the ZS can only output stereo via digital which fucking sucks Sad .

Now , i am pretty much torn between models :

Quote:
AuzenTech X-FI Prelude 7.1 Sound Card PCI 32BIT Eax 5.0

AuzenTech Forte Low Profile PCI-E 7.1 Sound Card PCI-E Dolby Digital Live Headphone AMP
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=35596&vpn=AZT-FORTE&manufacture=AuzenTech

HT Omega Striker 7.1 Channel PCI Sound Card 24BIT DTS Dolby Digital Live S/PDIF IN/OUT Coaxial
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=22973&vpn=STRIKER_7.1&manufacture=HT%20Omega

ASUS Xonar D2X 7.1 Channel PCI-E Sound Card 24BIT Dolby Digital DTS Connect SPDIF 118DB SNR
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=29560&vpn=XONAR%20D2X&manufacture=ASUS

Now , those are the model i'm interested in since the card MUST have coax digital out since the optical input on my Z-5500 is already taken by my PS3 and i don't want to fuck around with plugging/unplugging cable. Right now i'm leaning toward the Striker due to the price and it having a Coax out but to the prelude interest me quite a bit as well. Money ain't really an issue so if i have to go for the Asus D2X i can but i don't want to pay for features i won't use either (unless sound quality is noticeably better than the other models)

What i want to know is which one of does card has the best reputation right now ? Also , which one has the best support for Vista 64 ? Cuz i have read quite a few reports about some card being FUBAR /not working properly with V64.

My analog cables aren't long enough to reach the 5500 control module thing but my coax cable is. That and i prefer digital over analog for movies.

That said i am leaning more and more toward the Striker. I'm a bit concerned about a few reports from users about a sound skipping issue but other than that it has good review overall and the price is great.

The Xonar D2X is pretty nice but i'm not sure if i'm ready to invest 220$ in a sound card , even if money ain't an issue. I'm still undecided though and i give myself one more week to decide so keep the suggesttion/votes coming folks.
