And wow what a huge difference.

I've gone through maybe 3-4 24" TN's all of which have left me pretty disappointed. Not really color wise but more with the viewing angles. With a smaller screen you don't have to worry about it if you're dead center but with a 24 even being slightly lower/higher makes that portion of the screen unbearable to look at.

Anyway I picked up a LG L246WP which is an P-MVA panel and I put it beside my HP W2408H and BenQ G2400WD and the difference is night and day. I can stare at any angle and the screen is perfectly visible. I just realized how bright the toolbars of Firefox are because I was so use to the horrible viewing angles darkening that portion of the screen so badly. Laughing

So far I haven't noticed any difference when running a game. I think ghosting is a thing of the past but input lag still exists, although not on this monitor.

If you're looking to upgrade monitors I highly suggest ditching TN's. Yes their price reflects their quality given 24"'s are within $199 range now but that's all the more reason to get a nicer panel.

EDIT: Oh yeah, out of the 3 24" TN's I've used the BenQ was by far the best.

I don't have a problem with my Samsung T220 other than that the backlighting shows on the edges when the screen is completely dark. I only have a 22" though and the angle problem isn't particularly noticeable here.

Yeah that reminds me that all the TN's I had were all plagued with horrible uniformity and back light bleed.

imo, it really depends on which TN panel you've got...for example i have a benq v2400w (TN) and a dell 2407 (think it's P-MVA) sitting side by side on my desk and of course the dell has a brighter, bit more brilliant picture and better viewing angles, but isn't THAT much better overall. considering that the benq has an awesome design, better color fidelity and is about half the price of the dell... well, bottom line: TNs aren't all that bad - especially if you're on a budget, just do a bit of research before buying one.
