PostPosted: Sun, 15th Mar 2009 21:49    Post subject: HELP! Burning failure with PC Games being burnt on DL Media
I have been using Nero Ultra 7 to burn my PC games that a DL disc is required. Recently I got 2 failed burns (Lost Planet and Dawn of War 2). I have a Pioneer DVR-111D, using Verbatim DVD+R DL Made in Singapore and burning at the slowest speed. My friend said he had a similar failed message with Imgburn. At first I thought maybe my hard drive was too fragmented or my burner is going or I got a bad batch of DL discs (even though I burned like 8 before with no problems) but now I don't know. I think it might be the program itself. Please tell me what I should. Should I get another burner? Should I be using a different program or a later version? I appreciate any help someone can help. I have posted the error log from one of the failed burns:

I thought it was the burner too, but my friend who has a new burner said he had a similar problem with imgburn. Have you guys read my error log and determined it is definitely the burner?

Pioneer DVR-111D - old. I would say its the drive itself. Either upgrade firmware or test with a different burner.
Ive had issues with Pioneer before, ended up replacing them to fix it. I dont think Ill buy another pioneer with all my past issues. Currently using Pioneer DVR-112D (2nd one as 1st one sent back due to not reading cd'rs anymore)

Pioneer makes the best drives, it was always NEC vs Pioneer DVD Burners, NEC merged their optical business with Sony and they formed Optiarc, not sure if they are still good, this has to be the first problem I ever had with them. I bought a NEC before I bought my Pioneer and it died on me after 6 months.

Sorry to say but I had the exact same issue, the burner hasn't the power to burn through to the disk correctly.

You can lead a donkey to a pc and even sit him down but you can't make ee-aw burn that disk Sad

If it dont work with Nero or ImgBurn, its not the software. Try it on a different pc. If still dont work, buy another burner for $20.

Google "pioneer 112d read issue"..You will see tons of complaints against Pioneer 112D. I was one of them and had to return drive. Pioneer acknowledged the drive was defective and gave me new one. So, I can not vouch for Pioneer products..

Is there any programs that I can test to see if my burner's dual layer portion has burnt out? I can still burn single layer with no problems.
