to finish the burning discussion: it all depends on the quality of the media and the quality of your burner. If you have a good burner and use good media (like Verbatim) like I do, then you can burn everything with 8x and won't get any problems. If you have issues, try using better media (I strongly recommend Verbatim). If you get failures even on Verbatim discs, then it's time to spend 30 bucks on a new burner. My new burner burns 120x better on 8x than my old burner did on 2,4x (I analyzed discs burned by both of them).

Now, back on topic.

Wait... so now you're scored on how long it took you to get through each "section"?

Oh fuck you Capcom.

That's what i thought to. I for one have only used verbatim and i burn all my xbox game at 1x. Yes it's slow but i am not in a rush. But resident evil game some problems like not working right away. But after i took it out and in twice it worked.

Cause it's no longer Resident Evil... It's more like a Resident May Cry Razz Run, gun and watch rankings - that's all... It's a shame what they did to the series.

you get scored on
accuracy (how many times you miss/hit above 70% seems to be S)
enemies killed ( you dont' have to kill all but if you do it's S)
deaths (0 -> S, 1 -> A...)
time
and a summary rank which gives you points you can use to unlock stuff

Even the first RE had a speedrun where you had to finish the game under 3 hours or so to unlock the infinite rocket launcher. So there was always incentive to play the game fast.

My god..the screen tearing in this game is absolutely terrible. Did anyone play the demo on the 360? I didn't because I'm banned but was it like that also?

I did however play the PS3 demo which does not have any screen tearing at all. V Sync FTW.

Maybe it ran too slow in some parts of the game so they removed vsync Smile

Well that's obviously why they have removed it. Having Vsync enabled will obviously use more resources and cause the frame rate to drop as you will well know from playing PC games. What I want to know is why there were no such issues on the PS3 demo and if it's in the final game.

That must be it. Like most games I'm sure that the PS3 isn't upscaling it and is dropping it down to 720p. It hadn't even occured to me until now.

Thanks.

I heard about some bug in the Framework MT engine (almost all Capcom games) that can result in screen tearing if you let your console upscale the picture on X360. Maybe that's it.

This demo comparison says that the X36 demo had screen tearing but good framerate (sounds like no vsync or said bug) while the PS3 demo had no tearing but framerate drops (sounds like vsync).

They must have changed the Video section with that NXE update?

I use a VGA cable and I remember being able to select 1080p, 720p etc but now I can only choose a video resoloution..

Was hoping to lose the tearing....Going to try it at 640x480 and see if its ok..Ugh...

You need to kill the ones on the other platforms, if it doesn't start moving faster, then it means that you've missed some of them.

damn .. thats kinda hard. since i dont have much ammo left either.. hehe..

You can't choose 720p but only a video resolution?!? 720p IS a video resolution AKA 1280x720. If you select this, you should not have any screen tearing in Framework MT games (like Lost Planet, DMC4, RE5).

upgrade your wpn capacity to get a free refill (usefull early on I would say)
everything is killable but you don't need to (for example the axe dude in the first lvl) but if you kill him you get some nice item you can sell.
at the begining the melee armor is pretty good vs these stupid dogs ( or I just got better and better at the game Very Happy )
don't brother trying to get a good time
and I guess most of you already know it but red herb+green herb = full heal

personally I used the handgun, shotgun and later grenade launcher and gave shiva a handgun+rifle but you can use whatever you want. The game seems to drop the ammo for the guns you carry.

btw. is the money split on online/system link/splitscreen coop?

Using a 21" widescreen monitor, the screen tearing is noticable, but only in cutscenes. Nothing I can't live with. The game itself, is a fucking masterpiece. 10/10.
