This is a piracy forum btw, u don't have to lie and pretend you are going to buy it. Laughing

I beg to differ.. Theres a line between piracy following a well defined set of rules and piracy no matter what.

Obviously piracy stays piracy no matter how you justify it, but i consider this a kind of honour amongs thieves thing: you keep to a moral standard, even if that standard is in conflict with the currently accepted laws. Thats how i see it. So before the usual copyright evangelists come in here guns blazing, stop even trying to convince me how im a criminal anyway, cuz i'm not. I might be in conflict with the current laws, but laws are just that.. rules that change over time, rules that are changed because they stop being sensible / maintainable.

To make the above clearer: I buy all the games i play, that is play and not just try then throw it away.

Furthermore, laws/rules are / were set by the rich and elite and usually limit what the *poor* or common folk can do. Copyright rules are no exception to that. Trust me when i say: it is very well possible, that the world we live in now will be forced to change well within the span of our lives, because the current system of institutionalized slavery can only go one way on the long run. Uhmm.. i guess i strayed a lil off topic here. Smile

Anyway:
In a world where there would be fully functional limited time trial versions of all software, where digital distribution would be the commonly accepted form of delivery, where DRM would not force you to suck your own d*ck, while sticking your thumb up in your a$$ to play what you paid for.. Well: in that world there would be no demand for pirated versions of games either. No real demand at least.

Anyway.. people do not have to *pretend* they buy games, because they in fact buy the games they like.

Don't blame you mate, them servers are going to be bum rushed later.
Wouldn't surprise me if they go totally off-line for a bit because of the demand for the game.
I ordered mine from thehut, should be here either today or tomorrow.
Either way I will survive, everyone is going on as if It\'s a life n death situation Razz

I must admit I didnt look at the cost when I ordered it but my bill is shady I think
Cost=39.99 and a 10 extra for what?
I mean the bill is like proof of what you bought and FOR what amount
The 10 more wtf is that?
What if I want to make a tax reduction on the 10? Wtf should I call that sum?
Im feeling a little buttraped here... Sad

From a post on STEAM forum:

Quote:
What you shouldn't do:

Proxy:

Sure you can browse the Steam Store using proxy servers in USA and see everything in $ again. But if you want to buy anything you need to:

1) pay with American VISA or other US credit card
2) American PayPal or any other payment method that proves you're in US

What happens if VALV€ finds out?

You will be banned somehow probably or your account will be disabled permanently. Yes, there is nothing about proxy in the Steam Subscriber Agreement, but still VAVL€ will act against it.

So simply don't try it.

It's easier to ask your friend outside Europe to buy something for you!

What if a post on Steam forum says that the moon is made of cheese? How is using a proxy different from going to the US and buying something with your account? How will Valve "find out"? And why would they ban you?

Use the gift trick to be safe?

Because they are fucking scammers, thats why. Yet there is nothing we can do. Nothing the "little man" can do. We cant sue them, nothing would happen. Sue for 10 bucks? Their big corporate lawyers would pwn us.
Again and again the corps keep raping us with their avoidance of simple laws, yet piracy is considered a crime, while Steam isnt even though they charge more than the game costs? And you cant even talk about it on the forums without risk of being banned Rolling Eyes
Sounds an awful lot like a dictatorship, doesnt it? But oh wait this is the internets, there are no laws here, even for real stores.
Fight the power! Laughing \o7

means: preorder today and get Rome Total War Edition for free

My bill didnt mention anything about RTW and I cant see the game on my STEAM games page
