where did it go though?
effects - free
actors - free
location - either it's free or they're retarded
costumes - if they used $500 on costumes, that's pretty wasteful
equipment - $500 could go easily, but they've done stuff earlier so presumably they reuse the camera and lights etc
looks damn good though
just wish they would have had a script

Logistics? Costs for scouting locations to shoot? Equipment (camera/props/etc) damages? Possible rental fees for gear? $500 in terms of movie production is stupidly low.

lolwut?
fx aren't free. you need a machine. you need software. you need time to do it.
free actors you get what you pay for
shooting guerilla you're risking EVERYTHING. So it's worth securing locations.
Costumes shows that they're cheap.
Equipment ie tapes/storage devices etc etc.
if you got axxs to equipment shooting guerilla is really idiotic.
if you got axxs to software and a machine to do it = yay
Seeing how it's done, shooting took no more than 2 days [3 hour days]
Fx took a good week +
A sloppy week too.
There are some flaws here and there and the awsum after fx twitch is KICK ASS
good ting tho the fx they used are free to download
dominae, better safe than sorry. 500 budget means you're paying for tapes/transport/food/ and equipment rental.
Good cam costs 300 a day + a deposit.
Seriously, honestly, for true, anyone can shoot that if you know how. And with tutorials all over the web, you can make it look tons better.
The funny thing about this is, that Valve supposedly try to make a Half-Life movie for years, and then some people come around with $500 and show them how it is done...
Too bad there won't be a real high budget movie like this...
“The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.”
- Albert Camus
damn first i thought what the **** this i so gay 4 sure cant be good , but the trailer rocks...
and the combines reminds me of the star wars storm troopers .
And the music is cool too but the half life sounds got me smiling hehe but thats ok^^
cool action kind of postapocalyptic damn cant wait for this movie.... but the guy with the mustache next to the asian guys wasnt gordon right ? lol
Lol. I was talking to a mate of mine and we can shoot it.
Sky replacement for clips = 2 hours per clip. More if you want to perfect it.
Actual shooting = 30 minutes.
Color correction = 30 minutes per clip.
Adding fx = 30 minutes per clip.
Add to those around 30 min for rendering per clip.
I got a pro production cam.
I got an edit suite.
I got axxs to a green room.
Thing is though, none of us have the time to shoot things like that.
We can only shoot things like that in our free time.
Those boys have a production house.
So they had time / equipment to do it.
If you know how to do something.
It doesn't take a lot of work. Just a lot of time.
A lot of people would rather rush than spend time doing something.
If you watch the vid you can even tell they shot some of it on the green screen and their lighting was off.
If they spend all that time exporting models and importing them to a clip. Even rotoscoping. And they fuck up on something basic like proper green screening. Like that's embarrassing.
All they did was add tones to the colors. They had a location. They have equipment. And they have the facilities. Nobody with 500 can shoot it if they don't have axxs. It's at least 3000. You can add that to their budget with all the equipment they used. So it's 500$ if you have the equipment. 3500 if you don't.
Sure you can, but it will be shit, and you will reinforce the impression of you as a bullshitter. Just don't do it and say you don't have time or make up some other excuse so you have some plausible deniability.
Lawl. You might have to wait months until I get a break to actually shoot something I want. I can however post a shitty ass music video i did eons ago we spent money on make up. did some nice fx. had 3 dops. It cost 90$ to shoot cause we had to hire a make up artist.
I'm serious. That video posted took then no more than an hour worth of dv tape. Since it wasn't even scripted and acting is already bad. maybe not even 30min of tape.

It takes time to shoot shit like this. You can't get it done in 2 days. If combines were trolling the streets and the sky was red. Then yeah you can shoot it in 2 days and edit it easily. But that's not the case. So it does take actual time to edit it.
Q is will we see a glimpse of El Gordo himself. Maybe something similar to opposing forces where you see him jump into the portal.
Looks cheesy at times but considering the budget and all this has great potential and will hopefully turn a few heads in hollywood aswell. You dont need a big budget to make nice action movies, just a burning passion for showing different ways of killing a person and some brain cells.
Dont mess with God, he can impregnate your girlfriend/wife without taking his pants off!
It cost 90$ to shoot cause we had to hire a make up artist.
you can get them for free just goto the colleges where people are training to be a makeup artist the teachers encourage them to look for free work while they are still training.
what a load of crap this movies. me and my friend could do it in 5 minutes AND for $ 0.05. But unfortunately I don't have the time to do it. so there ya go, nothing special, we could even do it better.

you still have to pay them
Regardless if they do it for free.
You may need this person in the future
Here is part 2. Pretty old but never posted in here that I can see.
And a trailer for the recently announced part 3
Quote:
We have had many requests to finish Part 3 and would love for you to have it. So we have turned the footage over to Frank Gugliuzzi who helped produce Part 2 as we have been working on other projects. He has put together a great team and Ian Purchase has agreed to oversee the project. Check it out at indiegogo! www.escapefromcity17.com
