running vista x64 and just installed beta version of k-lite pack 32bit and there is background sound coming from movies but when people start speaking I can not hear anything that they are saying

funny thing is, it only happens in some of my movies
for all example HDTV is working fine but anything in 1080p/720p has no sound when people are speaking but it has background sound

most of the movies are either AC3, x264 rips or just 1cd rips..but funny thing is I could just play movie Into.The.Blue.2005.DVDRip.x264.AC3-DEViSE with sound and everything but then this movie Shutter.UNRATED.DVDRip.x264.AC3-DEViSE there is no sound when people are speaking

I have also tried CCCP and got same results no sound from speaking in some of my movies

any ideas?

This sounds as if the center channel is not played correctly. Do you have a surround sound system or stereo?

surround system 5.1

could it be that when yesterday I had to take out MB to apply new heatsink i mixed up green/orange cable that goes to onboard audio?

EDIT, yea orange cable was not plugged in at all

it all works fine now

yeah, check the speaker output in whatever audio decoder is playing.

you should scrap cccp and k-lite completely and use just MPC-HC (use internal video decoder for hardware acceleration in x64) + ffdshow tryouts for audio and make sure it is outputting in stereo if that's what you have.

ffdshow:
http://sourceforge.net/project/downloading.php?group_id=173941&use_mirror=garr&filename=ffdshow_rev2477_20081211_clsid_x64.exe&99545838

MPC-HC (instructions for hardware accel.)
http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/DXVASupport.html

leo posted those links for me a couple weeks ago when I have having trouble with vista x64 Razz

edit: seems you solved the problem, but still CCCP and k-lite aren't really necessary Wink
