i enjoyed bf2 too...but 2142 is way more fun for sure.
and there is a pereformnce change between bf2 and bf2142,in 2142 maps loads are way quicker then bf2.

Yes same engine, BF2142 has a few nicer looking things here and there coz it's a newer game, but IMO BF2 still looks awesome.

right. well, I think I'll go for bf2, since the weapons are more appealing.
one last question ... I shouldn't have any problems running it right? AMD Athlon 2000+, 1 gb DDR 400mhz RAM, geforce 6800 xt ... I can play fear fine (@1024x768 ~medium details, 2x AA) although I imagine MP might not be as smooth as SP. but I at least want the same quality as FEAR, although I don't really need shadows for BF2.

BF2/2142's multiplayer is very heavy on cpu, and yours looks weak. You should try demo first, but I think you'll be alright on 32 player servers.

Hey, that site says if you buy the EA Link Account option you can use the dvd version as you also get a cd key? Does that only apply if you get the game through that website, or will I get a cd key if I buy it off EA Link?

I believe the crack disabled the internet check or whatever so you can go straight to single player. |

I think you are right because you cant play with the crack onlline cause the punkbuster kicks you out. |

Well there is no crack for bf 2142 that works with the mp . You need to get your hand on a org dvd. |

I've tried the clone and it didnt work for me. Downloaded every version there is.
Is there a trick to getting this to work?
