Love it. I'll never buy a PC for gaming. A console is all I want. |

Be fair about this, patches are coming to 360 and PS3 as well, and are becoming more and more popular.

i used to play only on PC but got tired to upgrade every couple of months (my system was barely 6 months old and already couldn't play any games on medium settings). i then bought a PS3, played a lot on it in the beginning (just love to chill in the couch with a controller in my hands) but buying games got way too expensive (finished 2 - 3 games every month, 65€ a piece)
i recently bought an xbox and cracked it, and i'm never going back to pc gaming

I think the turning point for me was when consoles could graphically compete with the latest PC games. Before the 360, I would only play my PS2 or original Xbox if I had friends round.

Aye, that's pretty much it with the gaming industry in general now. The very reason why the PC has fewer and fewer "exclusives" is because gaming consoles can now rival PCs. Why cut your profit margins by releasing on a single platform.. when you could, possibly, treble your income by going multi?
I've always had the best of both worlds (a decent PC and any number of consoles at any given time) but this year - since I bought my 360 - my PC gaming habits of dropped off quite considerably.
The 360 is damned addictive, hehehe.

See this is an argument I never follow or understand.
I use my PC for practically everything, and gaming is just a click away. I could be browsing NFOrce one minute, loading up a game in STEAM the next. Zero downtime and I have the benefit of being able to multi-task to my hearts content. Playing games, all sorts of games, is highly convenient and an aside - rather than the main (perhaps only) purpose.
I also have a PS3, and I prefer that as a media player to the PC thanks to it's whisper quiet operating levels and BluRay capabilities. I get to play big exclusives that aren't available on the PC, or XBOX 360 and are unique to that system (console'y if you like). Aside from that however I wouldn't be compelled to switch it on and use it regularly because it's a games machine and I don't play games 24hrs a day and need to do other stuff the PS3 can't do.
That's where my PC comes in, or rather; has always been.
I wouldn't (for example) play SingStar or Rock Band in front of my PC which is in a desktop environment as some games are naturally better suited to a living room arrangement, but it works both ways as there are games that are intrinsically better (or only possible) on a PC.

dude, with a good rig, pc out does the xbox by alot. And the PS3 out does the xbox.
Should have bought a PS3 or upgraded your comp.
Still, if your happy with the xbox then its all good
I rarely played my 360 or PS3 before I upgraded my comp....now, I dont play em. I mean, I do give MGS4 a run through now and again and do buy PS3 exclusive titles. But if the game comes to the PC, I'll wait till it comes out on PC to play it, for numerous reason.

Well, since my upgrade, my comp looks better than both my 360 and PS3....it depends on your hardware i guess.
For me, PC all the way...but like i said to nouse. I still get exculsive PS3 games...but my 360...havent touched it in atleast 1 and a half if not more.

Please lets not get into that debate. We've already established that you're a PS3 fanboi, so lets leave it at that.
I'm certainly biased towards the 360, but that doesn't stop me from recognizing that in terms of power the PS3 and 360 are about equal. I have a 4 month old PC, but I still prefer the 360 for my gaming needs.

Im no fanboy man
Ive have both consoles. And I find the PS3 is better. Graphics are sharper amoung other things.
But still, the debate is moot dude. Now that ive upgraded my PC, I doubt my consoles will be getting my of my time.
So im a PC fanboy
Oh, and the reason your defending the 360 is because you have one. If you had both, ran the same game on both, you'd see what I mean. And pics on the net dont do it justice. Find one of your friends who has a PS3, rent the same game for each console and see which is better. Simple. Like I said, not a fanboy, just basing my opinion on what I see. 360 isnt bad, dont get me wrong. But the PS3 is better, if only marginally
But like i said, since I upgraded my comp, Im a PC man now

I thought the Xbox had the sharper textures, atleast according to the many comparisons on the internet. I never bothered to compare the two myself though. Who really cares if one looks 5% better than the other?

I dont judge based on what some guy on some internet site says.
I base it on my own experience. Since I have both consoles, I have compare. To me, the PS3 looks better and out preforms the 360 (no MGS4 on the xbox...cant handle it....they are trying to bring it to the xbox, but they are gunna have scale it back...what does that tell ya...and thats from Knomai, not my opinion)
EDIT
And no, I dont have an article on the net to back it up. I saw/heard it on a show called The Circut...it covers games, movies, sci fi, horror, gagets etc. The guy who make MGS4 (cant spell his name) said that while MGS4 on the 360 is possible and likely, it wont be as good as the PS3 version cuz the 360 cant handle whatever the PS3 version has in it (Im no technie so dont ask me to explain the tech aspects).

Just to take two of them, see this Gamespot comparison:
Fight Night 3
Quote: | Fight Night Round 3 was one of the first games to really show off the Xbox 360's graphics power with fantastic lighting and incredibly detailed player models. The PS3 still has great looking player models but the crowds are less detailed and the lighting effects are definitely inferior. If the graphical losses weren't enough, the PlayStation 3 version takes almost twice as long as its 360 counterpart to load into the menu screen, and a third longer to load a quickplay. |

CoD3
Quote: | Call of Duty 3 has made its way onto just about every major console, but it definitely looks best on the Xbox 360. The PlayStation 3 comes in a close second, but the 360 is the clear winner. The textures have less detail on the PS3, and the game looks a little washed out. Between the overly bright visuals and muddy textures, the PlayStation 3 can't match the 360 version's gritty look. |

And i don't care if i have played both of them myself - those screens prove it, with the article.

I'm not sure what Syco is smoking although I can hazard a guess ( ). Multiplatform titles on the PS3, especially when it was first released tended to be rather poor ports from the 360. Things have improved considerably, but there's no point pretending it wasn't and occasionally isn't an issue - even if it is negligible when you get down to it. The fact is they aren't designed to take advantage of the PS3 and in that sense it's like a lazy port from console to PC - although it's likely down to the increased difficulty, not laziness. And that's part of the problem right there; you don't judge the PS3 by third party titles created for the 360 but by first party titles created and designed for the PS3.

1) my 80 burned games for x360 wouldn't exist if I had a PS3. I don't own a single game nor do I plan on it. I don't support anyone, fuck 'em all I say.
2) totally sick of shelling out money to upgrade my PC for gaming. At this point I'd rather spend money on using it for a HTPC and on HT components (new speakers, a/v receiver, bluray drive etc.)
3) sport games suck complete ass on PC and most of the time they don't even come out on that platform

Does PS3 have noise reduction? Decrease in sharpness = harder to notice aliasing. You can see the aliasing disappears on the soldier's hat in the second screen due to the decrease in sharpness.
I have a family friend who also owns both consoles. I went to his house a few weeks ago and we compared several games that he has for both platforms (since he just downloads them for free for X360). COD4 definitely runs much better on XBox 360. If you try to play splitscreen on the PS3 version, there are severe framerate drops that occur a lot more often than in the X360 version. We also tried UT3 and The Orange Box. These 2 games run absolutely HORRIBLY on the PS3. Im sure its not because of the hardware, but these games just run a hell of a lot better on X360.
As for the actual picture quality, we couldn't really tell the different since we didn't have two HDTVs sitting next to each other. But he abandoned COD4 for his PS3 because I see him on LIVE every night playing COD4.
PS3 is a nice system though. I actually wanted to buy it because of MGS3. I have no complaints about that game because it pretty much blew me away. But one great title doesn't justify the pricetag. I guess its a personal choice whether you want to go with the PS3 or 360.

yeah you can connect a gamepad to the PC but it's just not the same(crappy ports blah blah blah)
and yeah you can connect a mouse+keyboard to a console but again it's not the same, most likely the games don't support it and even if where should I place the keyboard? (I'm playing in my bed )
so yep i voted "so so". Basically I just want to play every good game on the system it is best. |
Such a lie. I love my two joysticks for FPS gaming. It's not to say console is SUPERIOR or anything, but I'm tired of this old argument where a mouse and keyboard is a NECESSITY for FPS gaming. They are both perfectly acceptable.

I was like that when I first got my xbox. I'd used a mouse and keyboard for about a decade of gaming and switching to joypad was rubbish.
However, got my 360 back in November 05 so 3 years later, I'm much better with a controller and M+K just feels wrong. PC has 1 digital and 1 analogue input which just feels old and crap now. (i.e. mouse + asdw while at least controller has 2 analoges) |
I have owned the original Xbox, PS2, Xbox 360, Nintendo 64... game cube, wii, etc etc. been on PC since Apple II-e came out with Wizardry (ill leave it to you to figure out how long that is). I still hate a controller on an FPS. I have missed a lot of good games because I simply refuse to playan FPS with a controller. i will play it if it comes to the PC, but not before. Fortunately, most of the one's I have cared about have come out on PC.
I still wish we had an FPS game where PC gamers could go up against console people.
Its just my personal preference. My kids have no problems playing with a controller. Some of my buddies play... but they do admit the ksyboard and mouse being superior but tell me i can learn to use a controller too. I just don't have the time to waste on relearning.

Maybe according to the writer but I dont think so. Or maybe my eyes are worse than I thought
Either which way, I prefer the PS3. Simple as that bud.
Im not saying xbox owners are dumb, but i just prefer my ps3 over my xbox.
Shoot me
I dont understand why ppl get so up set over me saying i prefer my PS3 over my 360.
And one drawback with the 360 is the fact you have to PAY to play online. Thats bullshit.
Pure scam by microshit.
Like I have the internet and a 360 and I have to pay basically just to hook my cord up to my xbox? Ridiculous....
And its not cheao, 29.99 a month i think (could be wrong, it could be more actually).
And I dont like playing MP on consoles. I prefer MP on the PC.
Anyway, aside from the exclusive titles for either the PS3 or 360, I dont buy games anymore for consoles.
I play games on PC.
More a PC guy now

yeah see, thats bullshit. Per month....way to fuckin expensive. I have to pay for the internet (i have the best service my isp offers), buy the game and then pay to play it online?
Like Microshit is a gazillion dollar company and they pull that kinda shit....low class man, low class.
Atleast with the PS3, MP is free.
Thats my biggest beef with the xbox...paying to play online and its not like it 5 bucks...its like what you said, 32-45 a month? Yeah right. I have bills to pay, my internet and digital cable costs like like 200 a month plus my other bills....I could afford it, but its such a rip off in my eyes.
I'd rather use my PC
And now, considering my PC is better than both my xbox and ps3, there's no problem.
Im anxiously awaiting Mafia II and Empire: Total War
