The funny thing is that VISTA deserved the bashing, as did BRITNEY.

I also think fisk should be unbanned.

Ha ha good one, never seen it before. And common White Trash Britt deserved what ever was coming her way. I don't think she has been to court like a shuttle buss for nothing.

Why?
Having to click through 6 messageboxes to start a game each time gets repetitive after a while.

I am aware of this. But why is this left on by default, along with the dozens of other inconveniences of Windows Vista? An out-of-box copy is a pain in the ass to use, and if you don't know much about computers you get frustrated quickly. An OS should be easy to use, not a fucking chore.

I assume you are a power user (I'm not sure Razz). UAC is not for you. Read every review that takes into consideration the new users that don't understand what they are doing. Everyone tells how important it is. For instance, it has saved my mom's PC several times, where she'd try to do something bad but end up getting scared because of the UAC prompt.

And it only pops up once. Rolling Eyes

6 boxes? only thing i had so far was i got prompted every time i started firefox (until i found out that there was a checkbox "run as administrator" i unchecked it and everything's dandy)

i think some features of vista are useful, like not giving you access to every folder out of the box (even if you are the admin). it's like saying "if you want to get in here, you should know what it does. and if you already do, you should know how to get in."
like the application data folder. you gotta put yourself as the owner of the folder+ giving yourself the rights to change files in there.
but then again under normal circumstances there's no reason for you to go in there anyway, normally there's nothing there. (i had to get in there couple days ago because some stupid ass virus thought it was a nice idea to run wild in there and for some reason my virus scanner didn't think it was necessary to do something against it...)

I haven't "given access" to Vista to install to my machine, so I'm safe Laughing

To start trackmania:
File Operation Messagebox
Allow starting Steam service messagebox
Security message signifying you are starting a service
Firewall message to let Trackmania through
One more messagebox to acknowledge that you changed the firewall.

Then there are 2 more messagebox, but those are from steam. So I was wrong, only 5 messageboxes from Vista. 7 Messageboxes total. I know I could change it, but I keep it cus it makes me laugh.
