Quit whining and get to work! I have 2 exams and a lab test this week, and I'll probably want to kill myself, but that ain't gonna solve the problem! You could save some time if you weren't here bitching how you have to work all night...

Ahhh, thank god Im done with school!
Not that I hated it, but the work was boring and stressful. And I looked at school like work. My dad went and did his time at work, came home and got to relax. I spent all day in school, came home and had to spend a few hours doing homework....bullshit!
Still, prolly am gunna go back to school cuz i like learning stuff. But aside from important things (like essays and term papers etc), not doing any homework. FUCK THAT!

no no losing the drive on the day of is much much worse.
I remember staying up 3 days straight editing 4 pieces only to fall asleep on the 3rd day when it's due and miss the deadline.

That sounds like a nightmare. On Friday it was our final dress rehearsal for theater class and Ive never been absent for that class but I somehow overslept on that crucial day and felt like crap all weekend.
And our final performance was on Monday but it all worked out okay! But this research paper doesn't look so great so far I only have about 5 pages. But thankgod you can look up actual journal articles on the internet otherwise Id have to take the train to the library.

Just dont plagiarize anything dude. Or get a paper of whatever it is your doing off the net (you know those sites where you can get essays, papers etc for any subject, all of which got A's/80% +).
Cuz I dont know bout your country, but in Canada, they have this...I dunno, organization I guess of hundreds if not thousands of ppl who look for those sites and print out all the essays, term papers, projects etc, photocopy them and send them to every school. Then the school makes a copy of every essay/paper/whatever and gives them to each teacher. So if a kid just downloads a project or paper or whatever they have the latest stuff on hand and will fail you and suspend you.
Happened to a buddy of mine's brother. He failed a course in college cuz he downloaded the....i dunno, main essay you have to write or project or whatever and like I said, in Canada, the school boards/colleges/uni's have databases of all the stuff on the net.
When I was in highschool tho, i used my brother's old projects/papers/essay's. Since he went to another school it was no problem and the net wasnt like it is today.

Yes man I totally agree. I never plagiarize. Im way too scared to even try that stuff. If were caught plagiarizing we get banned from the college lol and then we have problems getting admitted into another school. But yea I always stay clear from anything even remotely related to plagiarism. Even after I write down my own thoughts, I always check google to make sure I didn't coincedentally write the same words as somebody else.
So far I have 8 pages done along with 5 citations (we only need 3 in our paper). I still have about 4 hours left so things aren't looking too terrible!!
By the way the paper Im writing is about a poem called Coal by Audre Lorde. Basically I just have to dissect this poem. This was actually much easier than writing that 5 page history paper because poetry is more open to interpretations

College and my major is chemistry. In this poem paper at one point I start talking about radioactive decay of carbon14 and radiocarbon dating to take up space on the page

I feel ya tho. I hate english. I mean, I like shakespear and poetry....but I never say the point in disecting a poem line for line, giving your interpretation and shit on it.
Dont get me wrong, Im pretty good at it, but I find it completely point less. I'd rather study math or science (Im into biology, physics and quantum physics....read about them alot and try to learn what I can from the internet and occasionally i go to the library and get some books) and psychology. Psychology is fuckin extremely interesting.

Yea I like psychology also. Im actually registered to take child psychology beginning February.
And the reason I am stuck interpreting a poem is entirely my fault. Here is what happened lol. Throughout the semester, we read around 9 or 10 novels and a couple of poems. Each week we read a new novel by a diferent author. For each novel we just had to write a 1 page journal of what we thought of the book. So I fugured, screw reading novels Il just use Sparknotes and google for the summaries. So thats exactly what I did and I got 10/10 on every journal.
Now for the midterm and final, we had to write a 3 page paper on a novel we read. It was quite simple after reading the summaries because I understood pretty much the whole plot of the novels. I found out about this 10 page research paper on Monday lol and apparently I have to include specific quotations from whatever book were writing about. And since I dont have ANY of the books we read throughout the semester, I had only one choice; to do a poem.
Now one might think that this may make my professor suspicious. Each student had to give a presentation once throughout the semester. Every class we had a new person presenting. They had to present on the novel that corresponded to that particular week. But luckily, my presentation was during the week we were working on this poet. And so I gave a presentation on this very poem in front of the class in November. So just to make sure, I e-mailed my professor on Tuesday asking her if I can do my paper on this poem and here is what she wrote:
"Doing an analysis of Audre Lorde's poetry is a great idea! Why don't you start with your work on Coal and expand on it? "

What kinda novels did you have to read? If they were boring ones, then I understand. But if they were classics/good ones, why not just read them?
Thats one thing i liked about school, reading classic/good novels. But I hated writing book reports/summaries etc of them. Not because Im bad at it, Im good at that shit, just fuck, dont like doing it.
But then again, I like to read. Some folks dont.

And I like reading poetry. A) Because I like poetry B) because it can get you major points with women if the setting is just right and you quote some super romantic poem/line of a poem

Oh and we had to read "Another Country" by James Baldwin and "Kindred" by some other dude lol and some other stuff. The only novel that seemed pretty cool (from the summaries Ive read) is Kindred. If I were to read a book, I would definitely read Kindred lol
