|
 |
Hi,
im not sure which AntiVirus or full package to use?
I read Kaspersky, NOD32 and Avira are the best. I think Kaspersky was voted the best one out of these 3 though.
But its very hard to find a working cracked version of Kaspersky anywhere.
Does anyone know what i can do to be able to use Kaspersky or know where i can get crack from for it please?
I heard there is a 100 day trial and a trial reset... is this true and does it work ok with latest version?
Thanks

I currently use NOD32, but I haven't upgraded to 3x yet.
Kaspersky is also nice.
And Avast is definitively a nice free alternative.

There are plenty of fresh keys everyday but they get blacklisted fast, you could also use trial reseter.

if your on a slower computer IE a laptop or soemthing i would recommend NOD32, it's also a lot easier to get for free.
Kaspersky really can't be pirated, the moment new keys are released their blacklisted so you'll be spending most of the time just trying to find a way to keep it free, but it's caught a lot of what nod32 didn't. I normally buy my kaspersky keys off of ebay for dirt cheap. My last year subscription only cost me like 10 bucks.

It all comes down to personal preference of the UI. The problem with Kaspersky is, it catches a lot of false positives, and the web is full of people complaining about the issue (Google it).
This is my opinion: If you know what you are doing, prefer a more streamlined UI and a good protection, you should get Nod32.

i ve been using kaspersky for three years now (payed for it) and it has had its share of minor and major problems. But it never really got me infected, which other AV/IS programs have, so i m fine with the drawbacks.
As an alternative that is free i d recommend commodo firewall and using a free AV for on demand scanning (dont use a scanner that runs all the time) and you should be nearly as safe as with kaspersky or similar.

UI? If you like to look at nothing all day maybe. As far as UI goes, I take a look at it once just to adjust options, that's it. Otherwise, as long as it's non-intrusive, I really couldn't care less.
What's important is:
- Virus detectability and false positives
- Memory print
- On-demand scan time

What I meant was they are both very good and the only "breaking" feature would be the UI (in other words, both are excellent choices and both will do the same job essentially).
Out of the important reasons you gave, NOD32 wins.

Just make sure not to get an internet security package. These are awful. NOD32 has that option, and it's awful. The AV alone is great.

I'm using newest Norton right now, and its not bad at all. People should check it out, seems like Symantec cleaned their act up Installation is 47 seconds, uninstalls completely, has highest detection rate in the industry, and is no longer a resource hog (8.5 mb in memory, cpu usage doesnt randomly spike anymore).
And now, before you all go at me with pitchforks and torches, just check it out. Seems like Symantec actually did something right for once

Agreed, I have norton and it runs great. Not like it used to...all bloated and shit. No slowdowns or anything.

norton still is shit, it had won many reviews 5 years ago too.... which says alot about those reviewers.
check out security related forums, i would say the trojan discussion forums but those are pretty much gone, and they will show you with example files for yourself to test what anti virus is the best, KAV/NOD32 still are the best in what they do.
Actually whoever has Norton on this forum ill gladly email you some files that when norton says is clean you wont have a problem opening it.

woah !!! loads of info... thank you all soooo much!
seems nod32 is easiest to crack so think i will settle for that. Kaspersky does look nicer though. Why did iNatan say that Internet Solution packages are rubbish and why is nod32's Internet Security package so bad?
I thought IS was good as they cover you for most protections

I just don't think they are useful for the resources they require. The Windows Firewall + router Firewall is enough. I remember thinking the same, and my PC ran considerable slower with the security suite. I uninstalled and installed just the AV and it's all fast. The suite also blocks tons of stuff. If you feel confident you know how to properly use the internet without falling into scams and virus sites ("You've won a price, click HERE" or "This hottest girl WANTS you NOW!" links ), I don't think you have to install it.
Try using the suite for a few days. If it doesn't bother you, then great. It is down you your preference.

AVG Internet Security, find it pretty good so far. Used to use Avast, but after reading some reviews I decided to try AVG.

Just like Norton doesn't detect some stuff, I can show you some stuff that KAV/NOD32 don't detect. Fact is, Norton has some of the highest detection rates in the industry, and thats good enough for me compared to the trigger happy Kaspersky, or NOD which doesn't detect anything anymore =/ And only a few reviews 5 years ago lauded Norton. Most people thought it was shit, and with good reason.

T4E, at least get Symantec AV Corporate Edition. It has the same engine as NAV, but none of the ugly, bloated interface of NAV. I used to use that before moving to NOD.

so did I, then I realized the damn thing doesn't catch anything. The compuers at my school used to use it and they were so fucked from using it's lacking detection rate.

Your loss |
haha for real.
I get daily updates for virus definitions and such. Literally, everyday LiveUpdate says there is stuff to download/be updated so I do it and usually its virus/spyware/adware/malware etc definitions.
Occasionally, (usually every couple of weeks) theres a mass update and all my Nortn products get updated (I have SysWorks).
