My friend gave me his PC and i will use it as a media center for my HDTV. But right now im running on the onboard card and i cant play 1080p HD mkv files, well i can but the sound is totally OoS. 720p works fine.

So i need a good AGP card (SM3), lattest not needed, i want a cheap one that will play 1080p and some games (Not lattest ones).

Thanks

Just found out that the Mobo have a PCI-E 1x and an AGP 8x slots

Should i get a PCi-E card instead of a AGP?

And if PCi-E is better, will any PCi-E cards will fit in that tiny slot??

yes x100. Decent AGP card is expensive as shit compared to a similar PCI-E card, just because they don't really make them anymore.

I just took a closer look at my PCi-E slot and its not an open slot, so only PCi-E 1x cards fit in there and the last one was made like in 2006...so im back to square 1 and need to buy an AGP card Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Does this drive will work with an AGP card??

the hell with lite on. Go with the award winner! I wouldn't trust that drive to be very effective as it's USB. The data Xfer on those suck ass and fast forwarding on HD and Blu ray takes a lot of PC bawls.

I have it, I love it, I will replace it if it ever dies. If you want, you can dish out the extra money and get the BD burner in it.

It plays dvds, HD-DVD's and Blu-Ray DVD's

I use it with cyberlink HD 6.5 with a firefly remote...mmmmm yum
