I've played it for a lot longer now.
The graphics look great, the lighting is excellent and some of the models are mind blowing, have you seen the giant spider thing, like the Halo Scarab but bigger. WOW
the gameplay is challenging on the harder difficulty, no run and gun, you need to keep your head down. the puzzles are better than in most shooters by far and it keeps dropping in better and better weaponary. The vortex grenade is the best weapon in any game ever....EVER
love it, game of the year so far for me.

Game of the year is a little too far. But saying it sucks is just ignorant. The gameplay aint that bad, and the gfx is superb imo ^^

I said 'so far', I know there is a long way to go yet. Agree with you on the ignorant comment and gfx, I also think the gameplay is great, better AI than most.
and the reader average is 8.1
when reviewers are so far off the mark to the public, I think they should be shot. They are clearly out of touch with the public and proves that gameplay is subjective. All these sites, IGN, Gamespot should have games reviewed by a panel of judges and revisited after a week or 2 of gameplay.
Damn those bowlers are tricky aren't they?

Agree, i died many times on normal difficulty. I actually quit playing for a while cause its frustrating at times.

Game feels a bit bland from the demo it was nothing special other then terrain deformation.

I'm playing on normal, it is a challenge, done second ACT. The third act starts off insanely hard with the enemy pushing you furtehr and further back, you really need to use the terrain to your advantage, make some cover, pop up and slot em, make some cover, move forward. Inspired stuff really. This is the most inovative game in a very long time, you won'f finish this in 5 to 6 hours.
