I'm in the market looking for the best gateway for my torrenting needs. I have a linksys WAG200G that's been giving me tons of issues, all kinds of disconnecting/freezing/wierd stuff with or without bittorenet running. It was working fine for 8 months though, just started acting up last couple of weeks. I've tried flashing latest linksys firmware, ( dd-wrt not supported ) resseting..ect to no avail. So I've decided to look for a different one. But I need something that can handle bittorent traffic with no bitching.. max $$ is $150, cheaper is better of cource.
Or I can just go for a dsl modem since I already have a WRT54G V5 flashed with dd-wrt v23 setting here collecting dust. In this case, what's the best one to go for? I've tried a tplink dsl modem last year and it's a piece of garbage..
theres the model i got. It also has a really nice portal page built into it. could call your ISP and see if they'll let you use it, it's all i did with mine, told em i got a new modem off ebay and need to setup the modem and they gave me all the info to do it. (still had previous owners info on it)
