Ignore my post count, long time lurker here.
As many pc gamers in this site may know, september is a pretty heavy release month, Spore is coming out, Stalker and BiA among others.
What are my reasons to propose this? Spore uses securom, the other titles I really don't know. Let's face it, scene now it's just a word, we have to rely in independent crackers to get fixed exe's without those pesky DRM schemes. Look at AiTD, crappy game with even a crappier protection, it took almost a month to get fixed and still the thread was pretty active with the classic: Doesn't work, where's the crack , bla bla bla.
What do you think will happen with a overhyped (and probably good game) as spore? Expect waves of noobs and requesters filling the forum with pure bs.
It's just a suggestion, it will make the forum easier to read and all the mods will have an easier job to do.

We already have a partial solution for that. New users have to wait a while before they can post. We'll wait and see if that's enough to deter requesters and such.

There hasn't been a real wave of morons posting for a while, so yeah, it works to an extent.

almost a month? think its more like 2, pity the game controls and camera suck so much.. maybe they'll have the insight to fix it in a patch...

There hasn't been a wave of idiots because nothing really exciting has hit the pc scene in a while. Just wait till GTA IV hits. Going to be Crysis all over again.
Anywho closing regs won't ever happen. It's been beat to death and I had a huge thread debating it. Rinze has his foot cemented to the floor on this issue.
