FF3 here and was watching the info, etc for when a page loads.(in the lower left corner of window)

Curious as to why the f*** we should be wasting -any- bandwidth with www. google-analytics.com while a page loads here or anywhere other than google itself?


How to turn off/block this malware?

It's not malware.

Google analytics is a very good web counter, gives the owners of the site a lot of visitor information. It's 100% harmless to the user, and very minimal on the bandwidth. You'll find a lot of sites actually use the google analytics web counter.

If it's giving problems and/or you want to ultimatly want to block it all I can suggest is blocking it through the windows host file or other third party application.

As for stopping nfohump using the web counter, it's up to the site admins ~ but seeing as it's not doing any damage nor slowing the performance of the site I doubt it'll change.

Not so sure about the 'not slowing the performance' because I've had the page getting stuck while at that google-analytics thing. Probably due to googles being busy snooping on the web.

And it gave Decca a chance to increase his post-count by a whopping 66%. Very Happy

lol, yeah I guess sometimes it can get stuck when google are busy... I retract my statement to 99% of the time it doesnt really slow the perfomance the other 1% is depending on the users ISP, browser and internet peak browsing times Wink
