Then why all the constant jibes? If this was about personal opinion, then why aren't I allowed to express mine without fear of it being cast aside and having veiled insults tossed at me?
Yes, I've played the original FO games (I own them AND the game it was based off; Wasteland) but I'm STILL looking forward to FO3. Just accept it and get off my case, for crying out loud.

Actually, its not me who criticized you for liking the game. It was you who criticized those who disliked it, saying that: - let me quote here -
"unlike you guys, I don't hate everything that comes out. Either your standards are astronomically high, or you're all just morons who are never happy with anything. Period."
So once again. If you really like the philosophy of live and let live, then shut your mouth about what and why others are thinking and then you are less likely to get criticised for your own ideas.

Uh, those Achievements for quests... are they simply just for the main quest or everything? Because wow if they are for everything. >_______<

I'm pretty sure they are for everything and not just specific quests in the main storyline.
That is Bethesda tagged some of the quests as giving achievements but the above is not all the quests available in the game.

I actually look forward to this, I mean I won't really look forward to it as a true Fallout sequel but I still think I will enjoy the game. Those last few videos and reading some more changed my mind.

Now Im a drug hater - hell, I can't even take painkillers for headache. But this is so fucking anoying. I loved using drugs in FO. As I wrote on another site, how can you not love the fact that you could fill yourself with drugs, get the horseshoe and put in the boxing gloves - and then slam your fist into the face of your opponent in the boxing ring and watch him turn into blood fireworks?
Edit: But I do understand drugs will still be in the game, but using RL drug references made the game feel more "realistic"
Quote: | Censors Force Fallout 3 Changes
Speaking to Edge, Bethesda has explained what it calls a “misconception” regarding the classification of Fallout 3 in the Australian region. Edge has also learned that due to concerns and issues raised in the process of international classification, Fallout 3 will not contain real world drug references in any territory.
Fallout 3 was originally refused classification by the Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification, citing among other reason the in-game use of “Morphine” in order to ignore limb pain. According to the Office’s guidelines, “material promoting or encouraging proscribed drug use” is refused classification.
In mid-August, the OFLC announced that a revised version of the game had been granted a rating in Australia, thanks to edits that changed the context of the in-game drug use.
While it has been assumed that these changes would only be in place in the Australian release of the game, Edge has been told by Bethesda vice president of PR and marketing Peter Hines that there will be no differences between the version that releases in Australia and the versions that will release in other territories, including Europe and the US.
Calling the idea of an Australia-specific version of the game a “misconception,” Hines told us, “We want to make sure folks understand that the Australian version of Fallout 3 is identical to both the UK and North American versions in every way, on every platform.”
He continued, “An issue was raised concerning references to real world, proscribed drugs in the game, and we subsequently removed those references and replaced them with fictional names. To avoid confusion among people in different territories, we decided to make those substitutions in all versions of the game, in all territories.”
Hines stated, “I didn't want people continuing to assume the version in Australia was some altered version when it's not.” Finally, he explained that, “There are no references to real world drugs in any version of Fallout 3.”
Bethesda has in the past described the landscape of international ratings classification as a challenge. In previous interviews, Hines has referred to the variation of rules and standards across different regions as “frustrating”. |

Well the previous Fallout titles didn't use realistic drug names either but I'm sure modifications (If a editor is released, wonder if they will call it G.E.C.K this time or perhaps just Fallout Construction Set.) can put back the names to be what the ingame drugs most resemble.

go bethesda! let's dumb down Fallout 3 even more! Censor the crap out of it, so we can't even choose the "There's a new sherrif in town, asshole" dialogue anymore!
"YARR! We be stealin' yer games an plundrin' yer gold!" sez the pirate.

Like the original fallout had references to REAL drugs. I cite: Buffout, Mentats, Jet, Psycho (not sure), and some other drugs. They could've just kept those names, but noooo....

What I don't like is how the drugs don't seem to tell you that they're drugs. All I see is what stats it improves and no description of the thing unlike the originals.
If I didn't know anything, I'd assume that it was magic pills and not drugs since all it does is add +5 to some stat and no mention of the word drug.

ESRP ratings and facing possible law suites, being picketed and picked on, facing being banned etc. Society has fallen deeper into idiocy and censorship than it was when the original fallout were out.
Were lucky if we get any sort of gore anymore. Shit i had to buy an imported copy of the witcher cause the american one cut out the fatalities and sex cards and all that. Germany has violent games being banned on a regular basis.
That and kids are playing video games more than ever, and not to mention games can be very influential given parents can't take responsilbily for their own shitty parenting. So some kid picks up some drug in a game, he's going to go out and start popping pills thinking he'll boost stats.
That's all my assumption anyways. I'll let you think your own theory.

A game like Fallout 2 would be impossible now. It would be revoked before it hits the shelves.
