Ok so far I've played 2 online games with it... It does seem to control nicely like the old ra2 always did but there are a couple of things that are annoying me and wondered if anyone has worked it out or not.

First one is the fact the screen area to work in seems to be small and limited... is there anyway to zoom out. In the old ra2 you had a lot more you could view on screen. I've changed the resolution no luck.

The 2nd thing is more really a game play moan, I can't seem to build things quick enough - what's everyones method of building??? Wink

hello guys.... been missing for the last few days. just made a short sweep of the topic and (forgive me if i'm wrong) is there a free Beta to download? at least thats what i understood. i saw something a patch to v.1.03 (i think) and something about downloading it from somewhere and so on ... could use some intel. i'll go back home within a week from if what i understood is correct then i'll have something to play while at work Rolling Eyes (not my fault)

They opened up the beta to the public for a limited time yesterday, now the registration has closed. It's only a online beta with 4 maps there are a few tools floating around to downgrade it to version 1.0 so the LAN mode will work but you still need a key to install it. Smile

What side do you play as? Because what you should build is different for every side.

You can zoom with the scrollwheel, but it doesn't go very far out.You'll have to wait until someone makes a zoom hack.

Do I dare ask you for a match, or are you still smarting from the RA2 game? Razz

Like Rinze said : You can zoom with the scrollwheel, but it doesn't go very far out

Played some more Beta now, and i must say atm i like Smile enjoying the different units etc, though i still need to pick up on my game speed Wink

Though the online matchmaking is bad, i feels just like Generals did, which isnt good. And even worse considering how long it was since they launced Generals. I really hope that its gonna be better when the game hit the shelves..

Consoles baby, units have to be big and in-your-face otherwise you wouldn't see them on the tv, ea is consoles BITCH!

Yes units are slightly larger, but I don't think it's solely because of consoles, in previous EA RTSs some units were too hard to spot, and now, imo, they are perfect size. At least when you max zoom out in 1680x1050 *shrug*

Shame EA don't allow more control of the camera in their games. I mean, image if you could go as close as the DoW camera allows and spin it to look at units. It would be amazing. As far as I know no mod has allowed that (do surprise me if such mod exists).

hmm Leo, i also boubt there is any mod that can do that. but you never know .... it might just be around the corner. anyway, can't wait to play a bit of RA3 when i go back home.....
btw, i just saw they released v1.04.... can i play MP online & skirmish using this version? i wanna taste a bit of the game before i go online (mainly because my time next week is pretty limited)

got a little problem. i downloaded the .exe of v.1.04 from the games official site and it tells me to install at least one language pack. does anyone have any idea from were i can download the 1st version in order to have the language pack? or if anyone knows any other way i could download the Beta and be able to play it.... i do have a legal activation key!

I didn't find the camera restritive at all, so I'd prefer a closer look more. Wink

+1. but in order to allow someone else you must give both the cd-key and the account you created using that account. you must send the E-mail used, the password and the nickname! otherwise it ain't gonna work! you can not create another account using the same key! Sad
i tried doing that and i know it can't be done otherwise!

The only cast member that i liked was Gemma Atkinson (the allied Lt. -"glad to have you on board sir")

anyway- the video looked like cheep porn - with all the half-naked sluts.. (not that it's a bad thing.. but... Rolling Eyes ) hurray for EA's marketing decisions..

If you played the previous games you would see the exact same things, its the cheesy "b" film atmosphere which makes the series both enjoyable and unique.
