anyone know of any for security? against popups, malware, spyware etc?

EDIT

@nouse

Image Zoom is a nice lil toy, thanks man, besides the dictionary (Canadian one) I got, I like this addon the best. I dont know if you have it but the dictionary addon is very helpful, you should grab it if you dont already have it

ah, forgot fasterfox. It actually makes alot of pages load slower or faulty when set to speed up things, but i have it installed to see how fast the webpage loads (i think opera had that first and i really like the feature)

check it on google's image search. With it enabled images there load slow or not at all. But without it, all is fast and well. Some actually do load faster, but in my experience the speed-gains are less worth it then the wait-times on some of the sites it breaks. Still, the load-stopwatch is pure gold imho and that alone justifies it being installed

i like the one that autoblocks flash media from auto playing until i tell it too. i also like the one that converts text links to clicky clicky links aaaaaaand one that adds the right click 'show picture' like internet explorer has, just in case an image on a page doesnt completely load properly or something

I currently have ADP, Flashgot and NoScript. Used to have statusbar download, but it's incompatible with the F3 betas.

+1 for Noscript, Fasterfox and Adblock plus

Flashblock (though with Noscript this is kinda redundant)

Unplug for downloading videos from youtube and such

No, it's not (now)

A mod should move this to "application" section.

Yeah, just installed it. It's still not compatible with B5, but removing compatibility checks takes care of this problem, ant it works without a hitch.

thanks again guys for all the list of addons. maybe we should make this a sticky in the app section for other and or new users who find this site and want to know of some good addons

Ive got most of the addons you guys suggested, some are incredibly awesome. I cant believe i used IE for so long. Fire Fox is 100x superior imo

I have:

Download Statusbar 0.9.6.1

Firefox 3.0 beta 5

XP fully updated

All works fine. I have never played with the options about the extension compatibility checking. You either don't have the latest version of the extension or something fucked up during one of the updates. Uninstall the extension, restart FF and reinstall the extension. |

I have 0.9.6.1 installed and it says with bold black in white: Not compatible with Firefox 3.0b5

Perhaps you have b4?
