EVGA 790I LGA775 DDR3 3PCIE SATA2 RAID 370.00$
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHZ 1333FSB 6MB 297.00$
OCZ 4GB DDR3 PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 KIT 518.00$
Cooler Master Cosmos 1000 Full Tower ATX Case 205.00$
OCZ GameXStream 850W Power Supply 174.00$
BFG GF9800GX2 1024MB DDR3 587.00$
Western Digital 150GB SATA 10K RPM 16MB 195.00$

This is in canadian $

Anyway so the reason im getting the wolfdale is that im waiting for the newer yorksfield to come out at a more reasonable price due to the QX9650 is going for 1k. I will probably get a second 9800GX2 a few months later unless it becoms a legacy product sooner then later. But in all with this I shouldn't get double the fps im getting currently in Crysis. Specs for old system in sig. I average about 15fps with everything on very high. I know my cpu is holding me back big time as for when I overclock from 2.2 to 2.5 I get about 3 to 5 fps more & my fps dips when there is alot of AI around. I guess what im looking for here is your personal opinion on this system build.

eVGA 790i Ultra SLI
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 2.66Mhz
OCZ Reaper 2x2GB Dual Kit 1066 1333Mhz
BFG 280GTX OC 1GB x2 SLI
WD 150GB Raptor 10k RPM
Cosmos 1000 Case
Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower

So much cash for 30fps in Crysis. Insane if you ask me. Nothing else (in games) needs so much power.

1.459 Euro is not to bad for a crack rig like that. And we all know that having the guns makes you sleep a little bit better at night Wink

I almost got a Cosmos but then I heard the Cosmos is not so good at cooling. I would rather get a CM Stacker or Antec P182.

How about liquid helium, make the whole computer super-conductive. That beats liquid nitrogen, even though you need alot of pressure to get liquid helium but whatever Very Happy

Yeah i'm actualy going to wait on the processor as the Intel Q9550 (2.85ghz 12mb L2 cache 1333mhz) should be out & about soon and that's what I want goes for about 500$ or so.

Be careful with that Q9550. I'm reading it's limited and people are not really happy with it with the high price Intel wants.

Concerning water cooling or w/e: do you need to change the water? If so, how often? etc etc...

You have to top it off every couple of months but you shouldn't need to drain and refill it ever, or unless you have an algae problem.

What is the point in getting a top of the line CPU if you're not going to overclock the shit out of it? I'm also looking for a new CPU now, and the Q6750 looks to be even more overclockable than the QX9550, for half the price. But I'll just wait for better CPUs to come out (god forbid, even from AMD Razz). My E6600@3.15ghz is more than enough for any task I hand to my PC, including shitty ports.

It sure looks awesome, but is it powerful enough to replace the bigger and stronger fans? (I'm talking about the huge monsters like Tuniq Tower)
