I have just got a 32" Sony Bravia S3000 LCD TV and want to connect it to my PC and use the Clone screen option so I can still use my 19" screen as my main monitor. Currently I have it connected to my XFX 7900GT using HDMI cable going to a DVI to HDMI converter.

I can set the multi monitor setting to clone but it wont let me change the TV's resolution which means it looks great on my monitor but crap on the TV. It will let me change my monitors resolution which inturn changes the TV's resolution but then the monitor looks crap but the TV looks great.

Is it possible to use the clone option but like overide it so I can change the resolution of the TV?

Thanks

I don't think you can clone with different resolutions, just extend the desktop and use different resolution ... with the smart taskbar function in ultramon this works quite well Smile

Dual-vView is really the only way you can have them both at seperate resolution's, but of course you lose the start menu on your tv, as nouse said, there is an option for smart bar, which just give's you an extended toolbar at the bottom.

balls Sad

Will look into the smart task bar thing thanks.

Is it possible to make like a shortcut key (eg ctrl+F8 say) to switch displays so if I want to use the 32" screen I just press ctrl+f8 and it will switch the 32" to the primary display thats already set to the best resolution?

Thanks

pretty sure ultramon does that as well... I use 3 profiles (without shortcut key), each display on it's own and then monitor as primary tv as secondary ... works pretty good... I use two keyboards (wired + bluetooth) and one mouse as well (bluetooth) which is more of a pain since the layout (and thus key bindings for games) are different on the two KBs (bluetooth one is smaller).

Thanks

ah yeah, forgot about that ... I have some programs that don't like displaying on a "secondary display" either ... kinda annoying Wink

curiously enough, for whatever reason I still prefer gaming on my computer monitor instead of the TV ... not sure why though
