yeah when it comes to design and animation, they are the best.. if you put the yanks against the japs in a competition where money was no object, only time, the japanese would win hands down... then the yanks would just nuke em again because they are sore losers

i hope it's better than the previous appleseed film
looks fun though
so much potential in cyberpunk action and cg
too bad only ghost in the shell has tapped that potential as of yet

yeah, but the audio is english, I hate Anime's with english audio, isn't there another release with japanese audio already?

nope and yes i prefer english rather than jap
too much buzz gives me headache, sorry
plus i hate reading subs while watching action movies, missing whole picture, but that's just me

when it comes to live action, ill always prefer original audio, but when it comes to anime... i gotta say, i take it as it comes and take an unbiased even handed look at how the audio is done.
Take the hellsing ovas and series... the english dub is WAY better than the jap origininal... and i dont just mean a little, im talking 10x better... bebops dub is way better as well... sometimes the english versions are superior to the jap originals.
Advent children is a good example of what i mean by taking each release on its own merits... it had one of the WORST english dubs ever, and i simply refuse to watch that film in english.... anyway the first appleseeds english dub was quite decent, so i think ill have no problem listening to this one in english as well.

The english acting in this new Appleseed is pretty decent actually, better than the first one at least.. I agree tho, Advent Children had the worst english acting ever it pissed me off so bad. I tried my hardest to watch it in english and got about half way before i said fuck it and turned it off.

well sjb as vincent fuckin rocked as always, and i always like crispin freemans work, but that was about it really - every other voice actor was pretty shit.
i just hope that when the bluray version gets released, the groups have the good sense to use the original audio... shitty mp3 audio for the english dub if they simply MUST have dual language...

anyone watched yet? I loved Appleseed.. can't remember too much about it to watch the sequal right away so will have to leech original again.

It looked great, although the story was a bit weak, but I enjoyed it none the less.

so i started watching it, and im thinking... hmm... this voice cast isnt so great, coulda sworn the voice cast in the first one was pretty decent... checked the ending credits and sure enough, theyve picked a new voice cast... how stupid is that? yeah im not digging the english dub of this... looks like the original japanese, in THIS case, is definately the way to go. man, such a stupid decision to replace the original cast... briareos now sounds like a fricken faggy ass skater dude ffs... half expect him to say 'duude..' at the end of every sentence...

I can't watch anything in DVD anymore, I'd rather wait. If there is something I absoloutley need to see (Rambo) I will play it through my PS3 as the upscaling is nothing short of incredible.

yeah i just finished watching it and i thought it was 2, maybe 3 times better than the first. way better balancing of action and drama, storyline was a lot more focused... not particularily DEEP or clever or anything, just all round a well made film.
did anyone else think the swarm things at the end basically screamed out matrix revolutions JUST A BIT
