has anyone tried it with an oem bios, not loader or hack. i dont want to use vista loader etc because i have a oem bios, have looked all over the net but everyone is talking about paradox crack being deactivated and just use vista loader 2.1.2 etc. has anyone tried sp1 rtm with just a straight oem bios????

If you have a legit oem license it should work fine.

well after hunting through various forums i cant get a definitive yes/no to sp1 and slic oem bios, so i'm going to image my disc and give it a try... any recommendations for image prog? which has best compression as i havent room for an uncompressed image (c partition is 20gb+), last tried true image...

I confirm that vista loader doesn't work un Vista 64 bit. After stand-by is no more activated and only after reboot is activated again but the timer is always on.

WalkerBoh, that I think is a well known bug (either of Vista or the loader crack, but I think Vista), where Vista gets unactivated after standby. Don't know if this is the case, but it sounds like that.

Yes, this is currently the safest way to fool Vista, because there really isn't a way for MS to check for this, or to counter measure it.

Anyone tried using this with the "Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate X86 OEM (c) Microsoft *READ NFO* *DVD*-NoPE" release? I know the guy above me confirms it works with the 64bit version, but you can never be too careful with these things.

Do sp1 works with Microsoft.Windows.Vista.Ultimate.x86.Integrated.January.2008.OEM.DVD-BIE
and Should I get that sp1 posted higher(450mb) or the big 2.5gb which I seen on torrents ?
And Correct me if I am wrong but sp1 contains all fixes and hotfixes until now. So its everything I might need for vista ?

Vista SP1 Consumer Rollout Coming Tomorrow
Quote: | Customers will be able to download SP1 tomorrow; retail versions will be in stores on Wednesday.
Microsoft's long-awaited service pack for Windows Vista is reported to be heading to consumers tomorrow. The RTM version of Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) was first released to testers in early February after a lengthy gestation period.
Customers will have two ways to obtain SP1: a stand-alone installer can be downloaded directly from Microsoft's Download Center or users can get the update through Windows Update where it will be labeled as an optional update. Systems that have drivers which are currently known to be incompatible with SP1 will not be permitted to install the update.
"Customers who visit Windows Update can choose to install Service Pack 1. Any system that Windows Update determines has a driver known to not upgrade successfully will not be offered SP1," said a Microsoft spokeswoman.
SP1 already caused problems for some testers who installed the RTM version, so Microsoft is likely trying to minimize a problematic launch for a larger consumer-based rollout -- the last thing that Vista needs is more fuel added to the fire that surrounds the operating system.
Customers will be able to purchase retail-packaged versions of Windows Vista with SP1 already incorporated starting on Wednesday. Those who pick up the retail versions will also take advantage of new, lower pricing that Microsoft introduced late last month.
Microsoft dropped the prices for Windows Vista Ultimate (Full), Windows Vista Ultimate (Upgrade), and Windows Vista Home Premium (Upgrade) to $319, $219, and $129 respectively. Interestingly enough, Amazon.com offers even lower prices for the software on its site at $299.99, $194.99, and $94.99 respectively. |
