Is there an option for doing that? To increase resolution? I don't usually play PS2 games and I have to say shocked I was at how poor the resolution is and how crappy the controls are. Waiting for the PC version no longer seems so onerous!
The worst thing about the game is the bad language, my eight year old son just loves to goof around on gta3/vice city for hours on end and his mom's gonna throw a blue fit when she hears what this has to offer. There's hardly any need for realistic language in a game that doesn't offer any other kind of realism. Cartoon violence? So what.
This game is made for kids, 7 years up will want (and many get) it so it is just irreponsible of Rockstar to pretend they won't and put parents in such a difficult position. Censored version anyone? For the children?
At least they got rid of those shitty big raindrops on the screen.

There's no option to increase resolution in PS2 games, game are made with fixed resolutions. I'd love to play GTA:SA on PC because of the easier controls, but it's really not that bad to get used to.
I was playing SA with my 8 year old bro lol, he knows not to use those kinda words or he'd get an ass whooping... but saying the game is made for kids... I can't agree with you on that. The game will definitely be rated 15+ AT LEAST. It's not just kids playing video games these days.
Oh yeah, about setting houses on fire: There's a mission where you gotta throw some molotov cocktails into houses through windows, that's the only evidence I've found for that... haven't actually tried throwing them on other houses though.

Are you taking the piss? The game is rated 18 for a reason and if your going to let your child play on it that is your decision
Rockstar arent going to kurb the language just because some parents are going to let their kids play it, id let my kid play it (if he had one) but if he repeats what he hears on the game id kick his ass

Ok, i know this is gonna be a stupid n00b question, but, still...
I don't like console. Since i had a computer, i never bought another console in my life(my last one was a SNES). But i'm a big GTA fan and i don't wanna wait till q2 of 2005 for SA. So i'm thinking of getting a ps2 for SA. My question is, must you get your console modified to work with burned dvd? cause i remeber a friend of mine had to modified is PS1 to play burned CD.

Yeah you need to get your PS2 modded if you wanna play burnt games. Or you can try some swap tricks, which I haven't tried since I've got a chip in my PS2.

you can get a swapmagic disk + slidecard for about 20$ or something.
it's not a modchip but it runs 99% of the games.
only downside is having to switch disks each time you wanna play a new game.

i even lowered myself to cheating
but that had a pretty bad effect also
those bitches from R* put a anti cheat thing for that mission
but i have to beat that mission because i got nothing else to do
already got all the places green nobody else has missions besides 1 guy which is not marked on the map standing besides some wall

with allot of luck if u ask me
second i got on that bike i told myself this was gonna be another failure but instead i managed to pull it off
allot of practice at shooting the driver from the bike and ur as good as done

Ah where will this gangwars take place? At my place?
I once saw some other gang dudes there but i was so surprise to see them there (never happened before) so i died.
I have killed like 100 dudes splitted on two gangs. But no gangwar to be seen anywhere :/

when youre on a red sqare on the map you start killin gangmembers, (i dont see anyred squares on my map anymore, dont know why) than after some killin' it says 'a gangwar broke out' or something, than gangmembers start comin and you need to kill of them all untill the turf is yours (it will tell you when its done)

yeah, you gotta take out those guys with a white shirt & purple pants.
you have to do it yourself too as far as i know, letting your gang shoot them will not start a gangwar (ive tried & it seemed to be going a lot quicker if i just shot em myself)
I think killing about 4 guys will start a gangwar.
BE READY THO!
always make sure you've got armor & enough guns if you wanna take over a hood.
Also, if you've had trouble passing the russian mission on the bike, you better strap up, it gets a lot wilder than that. =)
i actually found that mission to be really enjoyable, hard at first but when you start to get the hang of the aiming its pretty easy.
i'm really starting to love the game, there's so much to do!

About bulletproof vest, where the hell do i find one?
I have not seen 1 single vest :/
Somewhere close to the hangout would be good so i wont have to drive miles just to get one.
I thought the police station would have one but i cant even find the police station :/
About the gun. there is an uzi on the roof of the house right beside the basketball court at your hangout. Jump up on the cement wall and then up on the roof to get it.

I knew about the gun icon but in one mission is says to stop by dudes house and get some weapons. When I go to the gun icon there is just a pistol back behind the building. I want some automatics:)
