to fans of the original i ask... yay or nay? i loved the original, and from the clips ive seen of this, it looks KINDA ok (though i think hathaway is a pathetic choice, nothing more than eyecandy), but i dont think it'll be anywhere near as good as the original.

When I read such comments I always remember that passage from a Pratchett book where two butterflies (that can only live 1 day) sit on a leaf in the evening and keep yapping that the sun was higher in the sky when they were young and the cows were grazing on the left side of the field .

I mean why always compare? Who gives a shit how close it is to the original if it's good and funny...?

well its a remake of something, so why NOT compare. and i never said i expected it to be true to the original, i never even brought it up... and why shouldnt people give a shit about if its good or funny... isnt that what you hope a film to be? for it to be good? and dont get me wrong, im not saying i think she looks decent, im just saying the only reason shes in there is because the producers thought she was hot
