The simple fact is, you don't understand the technology yet you are jumping around complaining about it. Do you even know what technology the core2duo uses? The fact that you are comparing it to a P4 which uses a completely different CPU architecture is laughable.. The P4 under performs by a HUGE margin against a core2duo.. lets take this handy benchmarking website as a pretty obvious example of that..

I should hope I don't need to continue to explain the reason for "windows task manager" (clearly the most reliable way to check a CPU's load) only showing half usage most of the time..

Ok, now onto Intel and there lamborghini expenditure.. Out of Intel's 66 thousand employees .. almost 15% of those employees are dedicated soley to R&D.. There is also the fact that the desktop CPU market is Intel's lowest earning market out of every technology they design.

I compare a P4 single core with a P4 dualcore (P4-D)
I don't compare a P4 with a core 2 duo.
And I compare a AMD single core with a AMD dual core of the same architecture.

I put my proof in the post, a nice handy link to around 40 benchmarks that show dual core chips to out perform the P4. The PD was a horrible chip released to bridge the gap between the P4 and Core2Duo, it was never marketed as a huge leap in technology, I know this for a fact. Even still a P4D will out perform a P4 if used with a multi thread enabled application. On top of that dual core chips were created to provide multiple simultaneous application performance, as the others have stated, not double the speed of single applications.

I don't think you understand anything about hardware or CPU architecture. You have yet to prove to me that you are nothing more than a 15 year old with a poor understanding of the way his windows task manager displays his CPU load.

And you don't explain why it is the same result for AMD single core vs AMD dual core.

Ho wow, and how many time do you compress 4 video in the same time? Who need this? 1 person out of 1000 hardly do this one time in his entire life. And of course, you are going to sell this ultra-silly quad core to the mass and tell them they are using a awesome cpu that use the power of the mega-computer.

It is also useful to watch 4 video in the same ? We had not enough of watching 2 video of the same time with dualcore, we need to watch 4.

Are you even reading my posts? The benchmarks show and my post states that "a P4D will out perform a P4 if used with a multi thread enabled application." as they are designed to do. You are wrong, its as simple as that.

As for me using my "mod power" to flame and piss on people? I don't know what thread you are reading but everything I have said is an opinion and was in no way flaming. My opinions are based on my experience within both the CPU and hardware design industry. That opinion is, you don't have a clue and you have yet to prove me otherwise.

You really don't know when to quit do you? That's not four video's. Thats a screenshot showing me using a multicore supporting application to encode / convert a single movie from one format into another Rolling Eyes

I don't understand, I tried to make divx with my core2duo and it was not using both core at more than 50%. So I'm not sure how they can say a PD4 will perform faster on that task.

They say the same for winrar, and again, this cannot be truth because winrar never used both core when I did my test.


These bench are a bunch of lies. They are probably got paid by intel, like gamespot with their lame review.
