Some argue we are taught to compete with each other to get the guy. Women traditionally had to use their looks to attract and men had to make the money. I think that is changing tho as women are making more money and become more secure.
I am watching tv right now. On second thought maybe it is worse I don't know.

I have heard this theory before, I am sure there has to be more to it. I don't believe that is the only cause.
Women more secure? We obviously have different female friends as I don't see that.

Is your buddies wife a really nice person who has done well for herself? Because if that is where her self esteem is coming from all the power to her.
When I used to do retail, I did makeup and stuff. It was really funny to watch not really pretty girls AT ALL walk around the store and treat us like shit because they thought they were "the it girl" and better than everyone else. Sometimes we would watch them walk into objects because they were watching themselves in the mirrors behind the products. Even if they were super hot it is still wrong.
Altho sometimes being a bitch about your looks is a good thing. For examply lots of people around me can start to bitch about aspects of my appearance. Now I just say some kind of one liner and stare coldly at them and they shut the hell up.

I used to have a friend, he was mr. fit, had all the girls all over him all the time, and he would always love to shoot down the hottest, and I mean hottest of girls. He would even pick up ugly girls over them. I think he single handedly cause more hot women to question themselve than any other man I've ever seen.
