I really enjoyed it, it was pretty inaccurate in terms of historical accuarcy, but really, whos looking for history in such a movie. If you liked this movie, you should also see Grozovie Vorota (Thunderstorm Gate), it has a very similar style but is based on true events of Chechen war. Im not sure if you can find one with english subtitles though.

It is a matter of opinion, but i thought it was better than 9 rota. It doesnt have a very well known actors like in 9 rota (famous in Russia of course) but they played their parts very well. The style looks very similar, and the settings are not far off. They are on a hill, protecting a pass. Then they get information that a huge army of rebeles is gathering nearby and will soon attack them. Its pretty intense, and action packed, just the way i like them.

Seen it some time ago, a very good one. Really different approach to shooting scenes, can't tell exactly what it is. It's just like nothing i've seen in 9999999999 hollywood movies. Especially the finale on the hill. It was like many firefights in COD on the big screen with no big names but with great action. A handful of russians against a horde of enemies.

BTW.
9 Rota = 9th Company

What do you mean by historically inaccurate?
It was about a meaningless fight against afghans:P

True it was meaningless, but not all people who died in the movie died in real life. For one, the artist did not get shot, and you can see him in the making of 9 rota, they lost 9 men, and about 30 wounded. Also the afghans did not overrun them, like they started in the movie. They were very close to being overrun as they were almost out of ammo, and then afghans stopped rushing them. But those things did not stop the movie from being good, i enjoyed it a lot, and imo it was the best afghan movie made by Russians.

No, its written Russian. When you write it yourself. Can't find my old Russian language lesson notes. Always lost when I need them.
