I believe it was a vista problem with memory, I'll try to find the cmd prompt command to fix that.

oh ya, that's game related more than likely, theres a few threads on the forums about it. I'm sure it'll be fixed in upcomming patch

I just installed the game and it s buggy as hell on my system. Meaning it crashes every other minute and sometimes doesnt even load the saved games. After map-transitions (i.e. loading screens) the character often cant move.
I m mounting it with daemon tools pro (l33vancl33f) and having an amd xp-m @ 2450 and a gforce 7800+ with the 169.09 beta-drivers, 1gb ram.
I tried with or without the copy-protection emulation in daemon tools and the results are the same.
The russian crack from gamecopyworld does nothing (no start-screen, nothing...). Changing settings ingame doesnt help either.
Any suggestions on how to make it run more stable?

i m running the clone and downloaded the 1.1a patch from some website. You think i should reinstall and try another patch?
edit: do i need the emulation-settings in daemon tools to be on? And if so, which ones? Because there is no tages listed. Also, do i have to have other Read-options activated apart from "cooked" in Daemon-tools?
2nd edit and OT: i checked the fileforums and gcw again if there was any clue to be found there, and after some time i had to listen to god-aweful rap-music, that was loaded through some shitty ad or so and couldnt find any way to turn it off apart from closing the page. Are they fuckin serious?

i just noticed that the minimum requirements state my CPU to be "out of range". Wtf? It runs the game fine WHEN it loads it. Are they just to lazy to support older cpus now?

That could be said with a lot of newer games. The XP series was crap and is missing features new ones have. I really dun blame em, older CPU's are running dead and can barely handle the stuff comming out. A lot of games are needing SSE2 (I think that was it) which XP didn't have.

I dont know why, but the game seems to be working now without any problems at all! I dont know what i have changed?
I know i kicked out some Corel Paint Shop X2 related exes out of the autostart but nothing else. Apart perhaps from a Kaspersky update that needed a reboot.
The crack still doesnt work, but it runs fine with daemon. So thanx again Squirrelboy (yeah, i m talking to you Spykez, even though you seem to have abandoned us lately ) and the others that tried to help.

had the same problem as Lutzifer, loading crashes and couldn't move after loading was done. fixed it by changing the autosave value to 1 instead of 0 in the player.ini file. autosave is then enabled, so loading takes a bit more time, but it works!
