Okay MacDonalds set up a site www.makeyourownmindup.co.uk to promote their products and allay peoples fears.

Anyway reading some of the questions that people have sent in are amazingly stupid.

Heres a selection

5. Is it true that you use semean to hold the burger together?
A No. McDonald's burgers are formed from 100 percent beef (no additives, no preservatives) and frozen into individual burger patties before it's supplied to our restaurants. The beef patties are cooked, without added fat or oil, between hot plates that cook the patties from both sides - a similar cooking process to the grilling machines that are sold in a variety of kitchenware stores. Then they get seasoned with salt and pepper. To find out exactly what ingredients are in each McDonald's menu item, use the 'Ingredients List' which is in the 'Eat Smart' section at www.mcdonalds.co.uk.

6. Is it true that McDonalds use dogs to make their Hamburgers, my teacher says so.
No, this is not true. All McDonald's hamburgers are made of beef. Nothing else. Just 100 percent beef, made from whole cuts of forequarter and flank (similar to the mince you'd buy in the supermarket). All that's added is a pinch of salt and pepper after cooking. To find out more about the ingredients, log onto www.mcdonalds.co.uk and click on the 'Eat Smart' link. From there navigate to the 'Ingredients List' and click. You will be taken to the ingredients page for all the food items on

13. Are McDonald's hamburger/cheeseburger buns made out of HORSE HAIR?
No. To find out exactly what ingredients are in each McDonald's menu item, use the 'Ingredients List' which is in the 'Eat Smart' section at www.mcdonalds.co.uk. (November 2007)

This next one is great, it has to be someone trying to be funny.

26. are your baconburgers kosher? Very Happy
It sounds like you may be referring to the Bacon Cheeseburger. This item is not Kosher for two reasons, firstly the Torah classifies pork as unacceptable to eat, and secondly the rules of Kashrut say that meat may not be eaten in conjunction with diary products such as cheese.

I asked:

"Is it true that if I insult a member of staff they will deposit some of their bodily fluids in/on my meal?"

Lets see if it gets answered. Very Happy

5. How closely tied is McDonald's UK to Us McDonalds?
The aims of McDonald's UK and US are the same. This is to provide quality, tasty food with quick friendly service in a pleasant and fun environment while being a socially responsible company and providing good returns to the shareholders. However, due to the different tastes, cultures and traditions between the two countries there are differences in areas such as menu and marketing. (June 2007)

ya my ass it's quality food. My mom is a semi manager at the only one I'll eat at cause they don't taste like shit. The only thing MCDS has that's good anymore are the salads and soups.

Their menu has changed from about...a bunch of shit to...nothing new. A lot of the best sellers they don't even sell anymore like the cajun chicken or parmasan (sp?) chicken. My mom's store is one of the test ones so they get new stuff all the time to see how it sells and had these bad ass smoothies for a short time but didn't sell very well.

9. Is the food quality the same all over the world? I've been to a Mac restaurant in Egypt and the food quality was awfull I couldn't believe it. Do you check your international restaurants or what exactly?
McDonald’s believes in serving good quality food all over the world and each country will have systems in place to check that these standards are adhered to. The company is sorry to hear that you had a bad experience in Egypt.

ya, you can tell some corporate junkie is answering these trying to make mcd's look good.

my question is:
Do Mcdonalds really use child labour in sweatshops to produce their happy meal toys?

The only way I'll eat the food is if I order it fresh (chicken sandwiches are still awesome). If I don't have time to wait then I won't eat it. Once in a massive blue moon I'll be in teh mood just for bottom of the barrel shit tasting food at night so i go at midnight when shit's been sitting out.

6. Is it true that Ronald Mcdonald used to be a normal 16yr old employee before he had an accident and fell into the deep fryer and came out all clown like and mentally retarded? I heard he couldn't speak at all anymore and never left the restaurant so McDonalds covered it up by making him the mascot. I saw this in PETA's documentary on your restaurant. Please set him free. This is a gross violation of child bondage laws.

I love the 99c menu in America. Here we have the 99p menu which is essentially double the price. Except the cheeseburger on the 99p menu which is actually £1.15.

That's still very very low when compared to our prices.

Here a meal costs around ₪40, which is €6.92.
