Okay, "bothers" me is a bit of an understatement.. Pisses me off is more like it..

Anyway, on my way to work this morning, i got to experience atleast two of these.

Driving 10, or more, km/h below the speedlimit

Okay if the conditions are really bad, like heavy rain, thick fog or a very slippery road surface. If not, then get fucking moving, or get off the damn road! It´s illegal to drive too slow you know! And if you still can´t handle a normal damn road on a Tuesday morning, then stay home!

Not using your turn signal in a roundabout

If you´re NOT going straight through the roundabout, sure, dont use your turn signal cause you´re not taking any real turns anyway. You could do it anyway (i do) if you see a car approaching the roundabout. BUT, if youre going to make a left or right, and theres a car waiting for your next move, HOW THE FUCK ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GOING? No-one is a fucking MIND READER! Oh, and using the signal just as you EXIT the damn thing, doesnt help at all fuckface!

Almost coming to a stop just to get off the road

Getting off the road, either by a left or right turn, with cars behind you, is a really simple thing. Use the turn signal BEFORE you start braking. THEN slow down, and turn while you still have some speed. YOU DO NOT brake until the point where you almost come to a stop, THEN initiate the turn! We who are behind you STILL WANTS TO GO STRAIGHT! I want to be as little affected by your turn as possible. I mean, how fucking hard can it be?

And there´s more, ill fill up with them later though Razz

I get pissed in traffic too. Fucking stupid people that believe that have to wait for every single person entering a crosswalk before they go. This happens near a shopping mall. They wait like 15 seconds for someone to even cross in front of them before they go. You can be stuck there for 12 minutes like me today. Let people cross, a bunch at that, and then edge you way out and go. BUt no they sit there if any crosswalkers are there at all. There is like a 15 sec window and they still don't go.

I remember making a topic about the roundabout part... you don't save much time, but the guys giving the signal use even less to just use their damn fingers to turn it on... god damnit.

And sometimes I feel like banning all people above 65 to drive Razz

But that also goes for alot of other things...-

edit: also really agree with that part about using sign before breaking. I mean of course we can see your breaklight, but wtf is the point to break before giving a sign.

btw, there are lots of "SINs" in Turkey, Spain and Italy Very Happy

Haha, well i´ve heard from people that i tend to sound a bit too agressive when in traffic at times. I can live with that though Razz

Yeah, even if they brake and light up their brakelights, how the hell am i supposed to know how hard he is braking? Sure, i notice it when i start getting closer to him, but ffs use the turnsignal BEFORE the braking. Smile

Maybe it's because everyone keeps paying attention to how other people drive, rather than drive properly themselves?

I also think fisk should be unbanned.

Something i do very often when driving, is just to analyze myself. I would hate to fgo around talking shit like this and then one day be told that i myself to the same things. But i know i don´t, i think about these things almost everytime i do them. Well, not everytime, but almost always when there´s a car behind/near me. If im all alone on the road, then it doesn´t really matter.

Maybe i over-analyze myself and other drivers, but thats another story i guess. These things pisses me off and i know i don´t do them myself.

I hate the most when people ride your ass impatient as hell, you either move over or they swing by you going 900 MPH. 2 streets down I see them first in line waiting at the red light while I casually roll up next to them. Then they proceed to pull off the light half throttle as if it's gonna get them somewhere faster. 90% of the drivers on the road don't even bother to think the lights are timed based off the designated speed limits, the closer you follow the speed limit the better chances of getting "Green" consistantly.

The freeway is another matter. I'm just in crazy economy driving mode, I hate the feeling I get after filling up my car. It's like i was robbed.

People need to realize the amount of time they cut by speeding like demons is not proportional to the amount of money in gas to drive at that speed.

USA is so fucked up :\

Yeah seriously, I wish aquiring a license was as difficult as I hear it is in Europe. It would keep so many morons off the road. I guess they are attempting to fix things by introducing a mandatory written test that needs to be taken each time you re-new your license starting 08.

Whoopie like that's gonna change anything.

Ah yes! That happens here too! They fly by like theyre a damn ambulance, yet you catch up on him sooner or later if you just keep your pace.

Oh and getting a license in the states definately needs to be harder. I have two friends that lived there as exchange-students, and they witnessed the madness first-hand. Like, the final drivers test was to drive around the block a few times.

I wonder how many americans would pass getting a license here..

How long does it take, generally, to get a license in the USA? I mean from the first day you register for drivers ed to the day you´re done..

Guys who drive delivery trucks! And taxi drivers!

The former is always speeding, uses the horn too much and thinks he's the king of the road. One of these assholes crashed against my brand new car last monday and had the nerve to ask me to "let it go" because it was the second accident he had this month!!!!!

The latter does all kind of dumb stuff on the road (I even had once sounding the horn like a madman for me to go trough a red light just because there was no traffic...) and always gives the excuse "i'm working, pal!".

Simple solution to traffic problems in the mornings/evenings

Get out of your bloody cars and walk, get a bus/tram or whatever public transport is available. And make your lazy brats walk to school.

This will enable us who use public transport to get home earlier and not be stuck behind hundreds of cars with one selfish moron in each.. plus it may bring down the extortionate cost of publc transport. Although thats probably just a pipe dream

If you are under 18 (15 1/2), you go to a 4 session driving school. 8 hours per session - all lecture no hands on experience. All that school does is provide a certificate and prepare you for the "Permit" test. You can take that and have a "Permit" which basically is a provisionary license.

You can drive so long as someone over a certain age is in the vehicle with you (I think it's 22+?) After 6 months time passes your are eligible for the true license test. At which point you can take. So the earliest someone can legally drive here is the age of 16 basically, and it's a cake walk.

To give you an idea of how ridiculous the driving test was: I fucking rolled 4 stop-signs (Well didn't stop), did not yield to traffic when I was suppose to, pulled in front of someone abruptly (Not cut off!) and failed to observe cross traffic - AND STILL PASSED!

All because the lady and I were having a wonderful chat about how teenagers now-days have no respect!

ROFL WTF! Laughing

For me, it took about four to five months. Then again, i already knew how to drive before i signed up. For many, it takes longer than that. We have two tests, one written (65 questions, you have to have atleast 53 correct) and then the final one, the driving test. Wich you WILL fail if you do something wrong. And before you´re even eligible to do the written test, you have to do four stages of theory-reading + tests, each containing its own chapters and questions.

Oh, and we have one more mandatory thing, and i dont really know how to explain it Razz
Its a course, wich basically has a very very slippery surface, for practicing driving on a icy road, for example. I did my test on the summer, then they pour some special soap all over the course, and indeed, its slippery as fuck. You have to do some starting/stopping, evade maneuvers etc. Also, there this slalom-like part, maybe more like a S-shaped part, where you have to stay on the track/road. You start at about 35 km/h (about 20 mph), and if you pass with that speed, you go again, but 5 km/h (about 3 miles) faster, until you eventually slide of the track. I was actually the one with the fastest speed on that test of all the people there Smile

Nice, we could really use that slippery road tests here in Canada. We got our first big snow fall this year, and everyone forgets how to drive.

First winter storm causes hundreds of accidents

It was a white-knuckle drive for motorists in the Greater Toronto Area on Thursday as the first major winter storm hit the province.

Ontario Provincial Police say there were hundreds of accidents -- mostly single-vehicle spinouts -- by mid-morning. At one point, a crash was reported every 90 seconds.

Two serious accidents on Highway 400 in the early afternoon caused massive traffic backlogs during the evening commute.
