A horse needs its legs and can't stay off them. It is a bad break I don't think they can heal because the horse can't keep its weight off. Even if the average horse guy could do it they prob would not because it would be to expensive. The money factor in a horse is winning or work. Not for its beauty as an animal.

On film you never see the horsey girl wanted to put her horse down, it is always the business minded dad or such. Sad

I worked at a horse resuse (voluntered for a few months) and I have to say what animal that was able to be resuced was almost perfect (never mind broken leg) as long as they were from the racing track or buggy cart track.. Some of thoses horses made millions.

so you mean sometimes its technically possible for a doctor to heal the broken bone, but if it costs alot then the owner have the right to get rid of it instead... Confused

Sad

Well yes.

Owners of animals can always put them down when they want. sometimes the authorities will step in, if people say something and they can build a case. They have to have a solid case, I think. What happens at race tracks is disgusting I think.

Hobby horses owners are pretty good about it now. I least lots of them really love their horses and give them the pasture when they are done their work. At the least out of loyaty.

A compound fracture in a horse tho is the worse. You just can't keep a horse off its feet long enoughtfor it to heal properly . That is an awsome weight on a leg, one hard run and it is fucked again. The muscules and lungs go weak too while they don't excerize. The physico on a horse is really expensive.

There is a balance, and you have to look at the quality of life after the break.

^Sorry I had to re-read that like 12 times. "he use to paint horses." I was like, "Damn, didn't know people made a buisness off painting horses, I guess kids like designs on farm animals?"

Well imagine this dude, dogs may be able to get casts for their legs but their lightweight and can hobble on 3 legs. A horse weighs a ton, to mention the amount of pressure that get put on that one leg when it walks, it's just break or cause it to not heal. The horse would have to lay down for quite some time and not walk to let it heal.

Honestly, outside of racing horses, I would prefer the horse to be put down to keep it out of pain and agony. Kinda like you do your dog when it's a mess and you don't want it suffering anymore.

kamel....STOP FOLLOWING ME AROUND!! everywhere I just make a post, you show up right before or after lol
