I remember seeing a TV show a few years ago about Romans fighting in the forests of Northen Europe. It included something about a tribe of fierce warrior women, the Roman soldiers came up against and were impressed with.
I think they rode on horse back, and the men in their community took an active paternal role.
Not Bouddicca buy the way, who I thing was southern English.
Any how, despite google being my best friend, I'm struggling to find any info about it, for a project.
thanks for that. I've been looking through, and still can't find what I'm looking for. I'll certainly read through this lot carefully though.
The TV show documentary if anyone remembers had a lot of stuff about the female gladiator, which the Romans had a fascination for and a female warrior tribe in Northen Europe.
