yea, i mean how hard would it be to adde a multiplayer campiagn game? Oh wait answered my own question, expansion pack....

Also, its super easy if you just let the computer rush in to the broken down walls while your infantry ties them up. Then all awhile your men are fighting them back, you take your cav and run them outside and flank them, wash, rinse repeat, and you are undefeatable..... pretty sad the ai doesnt see the cav coming...

No sagboy5 BoZo_ isn't sleeping with the devs. He just reads the stuff the devs actually say in interviews and so forth. Isn't exactly hard to find them saying that there will be no MP campaign as it has been said in almost every single interview done with them...

Also goot as far as I know there are some people working on getting ride of that. Just got to wait Sad

I doubt the crack is causing AI issues, they just arnt that good in battle's, in the roman campaign I did get attacked by thousands of troops, because I was always on the onslaught, and on medium diff I was RICH, nothing could stand in the way and I decimated all the nations huge armies, simply too easy...

Then I switch to very hard, the enemy is now on the offensive as this makes the campaign game itself that much harder and it takes awhile to get places, this is where I start to notice the AI problems. Its as if, without you laying waste to them, they dont know how to play...they cant manage small armies correctly because they just arnt that good. When they have massive amounts of troops it can be fun, but a little out of control, what they lack in AI they make up for in numbers.

I'm just saying the AI is flawed.

dont use a crack here, cloned cds. patched to 1.1. and everything. same probs exist on hard too. anyways if it did just exist on medium difficulty what does that mean? normal=flawed ai hard=working ai? what kind of crap programming would that be? anyways the ai just has problems and its not a result of some crack.

I play with the vhard/vhard settings, and its T O O E A S Y...
I'm in a Total War clan, so i'm used to that kind of games, and so I know what I exactly got to do to make a whole army rout by doing the right thing, and I'm almost unstoppable.
The AI is just too stupid, and the only thing that slow me are the riots and the squalor...

CA released an unfinished game...

every single battle i fight in the campaign always takes place at day, in sunny conditions. i have never fought a battle that is at night, in snow, in rainy/bad weather conditions. is this a bug in the game?

maybe ill try it on v hard then, the one mode i didnt try. one question tho, is the friendly general AI improved as well on this mode? has anyone tried giving an AI controlled general some onagers, and actually watched him break down walls with them? or do you still have to treat him like a retard and just give him some rams/s towers to play with, that he cant mess up with?

Yeah I know, but they could force me to be disadvantaged, by slowing my economy (so I would be forced to fight with outdated units), or by changing my unit's stats, etc...

EDIT for upstart_69 : Treat him like a retard, it will be better for you (he could kill you with the flaming balls=)

The AI generals will use onagers to destroy walls, they are fairly good at that, problem is the AI itself never thinks to bring onagers, so I've never been attacked with onagers before.

The AI does not improve in battles from medium to very hard, its better at strategic areas, but its still dumb in alot of aspects, point is it doesnt solve much, just makes it harder for you to get a foothold because of economic reasons.

You might be able to bribe the enemy generals, dont know though, other then that they come randomly and if they all die you lose the game.

Thats how I defeated Greece, cornered their last general and killed him, after that all their towns go rogue and they are eliminated from the game.

BTW I've been trying out some mods and I recommend the AI changes in this one:

http://www.twcenter.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=11196

And the realism mod is good too:

http://www.twcenter.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=11231

This mod unlocks all factions, even the unplayable ones, and adds descriptions and map details for all of them:

Seems like a bug to me, you can't specify what to bribe with, and on the rare occasions when they say: "I'll take 4000 gold" they just vanish in 9 times out of 10. (The general)

paying an enemy army to get the hell outta here is one thing, but paying an army to join you is just not that easy. bribe works well, unless you start bribing enemies to death instead of fighting them, then you should seriously consider changing your play style.
