It seams that they dont even know how to apply cracks or emu clones right. All games (new and old) work fine here and i never had any issues.Wtf do these people do with their computers? Install useless junk and fuckup their windows installation. When you mention it might be good to make new installation of windows they all go beserk. I wonder is this happening because of immigrants? |
A lot of people don't know proper PC management from what I've seen..and fixed. People who buy prebuilts usually do so cause they lack PC knowledge. So they don't really know how to keep things running smooth. That's one reason I stopped helping in the tech threads, people are ungrateful and don't do anything but whine about developers being assholes cause they won't support their old out of date hardware.

I blame torrents. The higher availability of "stuff" creates a bigger audience. And that bigger audience sadly has to be educated again and again about what to do with those files they are getting. Which in my opinion is great, because it also makes piracy a mainstream culture and instills the hope in me that the culture of copyright-laws may draw to an end. Copyright-laws are only about 200 years old, so there is still hope that a free world might embrace the new-found freedoms of distribution of culture goods and change society to reflect that...

+1, I hear all these kids bragging about these games they download through torrents trying to sound "cool" cause they get free stuff. Ya good luck getting a GF with that
I don't think copyrights will ever die down especially with the RIAA and MPAA pushing so hard, their greedy and their american, they'll never shut the hell up. I just hope developers will soon realize their ONLY way to fight piracy even the slightest bit is to stop making such shitty games. More than a handful of people download a game to try it out, if they like it, they usually go buy it, they buy it cause the game doesn't suck. Bioshock is a good example, while it got pirated, a lot of people still bought it cause it was a damn good game, over hyped but damn good. I think I read somewhere they sold 25 million copies.

yeah, i only meant that the portion of "pc-illiterate" people around here stems from torrents. But it could be that a good portion also comes just for the game-talk. The ubiquitousness of PCs sure is also adding to the problem... ...i know so many peeps that have wlan and laptops nowadays that wouldnt even touch a mouse years ago. Perhaps its all the fault of the sexiness of mobility and the cultural status of laptops =)

hey Syco, welcome back man!!!
I also dislike laptops, but all the halfwits and computer illiterates i know (read: those people without a clue, that come running to you with every tiny problem with their hard- and software) love laptops and wlan, because its all so free and easy. I never had a laptop and will never get one as a main system because i hate the keyboards, the hardware-limitations, the extra-price. But alot of companies are planning to release super-cheap laptops, so i might get me one for travel if i ever have some money lying around, that cant be spend better otherwise

Thanks dude
Im a desktop man too. Like you said, unless i have an extra $2000 to spend, there's no way im going to purchase a laptop. The mouse thing alone is enough to make someone cut their wrists
