hi. can't find any topic with such problem. am i only one? anyway, got YAE RELOADED version and installs fine. i copy the cracks and launch the game. then i change some settings and restart the game. Game won't start anymore. It hangs up in starting, only showing YAE logo.
I reinstalled the game 6 x already. all the same. change resol - crash. even changing only few keys game won't start anymore. anyone have some ideas?

same, set the .exe file to compatible with 2000. Works for me.

Not here.. I have tried everything what could be done, and nothing helped.. It's still freezing on You Are Empty -screen

This game is a real arse to get running. (I have looked on a few diff fourums ect and many people are having probs getting this to run).
I have so far only managed to get the game to run once (1st time only and never after that).
You guys who are running the game after the 1st time on XP what are you doing ?. (I am not a Noob and have only had a simela prob once before with another star force prot game (Splinter cell).
I am mounting image in DT and installing fine
I install all codecs ect
once installed i copy/paste crack + dll over originals (obviously)
I am intrested to know are you guys blocking the exe with your fire wall or allowing to connect ?. (i have tried both ways). (I have read one guy suggesting/saying he had to unplug his modem to get this working) lol..
I NEVER INSTALL STARFORCE PROTECTION (for obvious reasons) but to be honest there should be no reason to have to allow SF to install as a crack has been supplied. (no one is allowing SF to install are they ? If thats what your doing and then are able to run the game then im baffled as that dont make any sence and i dont want SF prot installed on my PC).
So can someone on XP give me a “EXACTLY HOW YOU DID IT” ? PLZ? (even though i am sure i have tried everything and everyway im always open to ideas and you never know i could of missed something).
Being able to play the game only the 1st time its installed and then not after is crap obviously and i have to reinstall the game again once 1st time i switch game off. (putting original exe + dll back over originals and then copying over again wont work/get round the "game runs once" problem Any ideas ?
(Im ready to f**k this off to be honest).
A detailed step by step for all/anyone on XP who gets this working more than once will be appreciated.

I'm able to start the game, but when I choose new game and after the movie plays the screen becomes black and then nothing. Only way to exit the game is to ctrl+alt+del and quit the process.
Any solutions?

did u tried to "set the .exe file to compatible with 2000"???
u do it so: right click with your mouse on YAE desktop icon. Choose - Properties - Compatibility. Mark upper box Compatibility mode and choose windows 2000. apply i run the game.

well i have the same problem:
install went fine, copied over the crack and when i launch it it freezes at the yae logo
i installed the wmv codec from the cd and also tried all the compatabilty options on the .exe , but its no use it wont start.
any other ideas?

Yes i have attempted to run the game in different windows compatable mode as well as altering res ect on my desktop 1st.
Im gonna have another go tonight uninstalling and reinstalling the game and attempt a couple of other things and then ill be giving up on it until either another crack or official game update is released.

Ok i have posted in here a few times already and like so many others have had some probs getting this to run and when i eventualy did it only worked once lol. (and then kept getting stuck at "you are empty" screen).
This is how i managed to get game to run for me which those of you are still struggeling to get running may be intrested in.
Go through the normall process of mounting image and installing with DT.
Make sure you install ALL options (all boxes checked)
I found that by altering the install direction (i have a folder named games where i install all games) was a problem. I have had this happen once before with another game so install to defaut location which if i remember correctly is
C:/ Programfiles/1 C company/You are empty.
Once installed make sure there is no problem installing the WM9 codecs + WMV9VCMsetup. (if there is a prob simply after install process has finished browse the mounted image and go into WM9V folder and start both setups again).
DO NOT RUN GAME AT SCREEN WHICH ASKS IF YOU WANT TO LAUNCH GAME (AFTER INSTALL PROCESS FINISHES OBVIOUSLY OTHERWISE IT WILL PROMT YOU TO INSTALL STARFORCE PROTECTION AT THIS POINT WHICH YOU DONT WANT TO DO )
So now game is installed and all codecs ect are. Copy and paste cracked exe and dll over originals.
(REMEMBER YOU STILL SHOULD NOT OF ATTEMPTED TO RUN GAME YET).
Once cracked exe and dll are copy/pasted into location make sure you give the cracked exe permission to connect to
internet. (do this through your fire wall/mcafee/zonealarm/ or if you use no software like this then through windows fire
wall. (I noticed that if the exe is blocked the game will not run. I managed to get it to start screen, watch the FMV before you get to control your person but i never managed to play the game whilst exe was blocked). Once i gave permission to the exe the game ran fine (and not just the 1st time).
I also noticed that sometimes the game will run ok but sometimes i have to use the windows compatability mode and select windows 98/me (Thanks to mr.editor for that nugget of info).. (Do this by right clicking on shortcut on desktop/selecting compatability tab/then selecting windows 98/me and apply). Then it runs ok and if not i have to do the windows compatability mode thing again and apply again and its ok.
This is the only way i have managed to play the game and be able to turn PC off + on and then play it again and continue from saved location.
Hope this helps you guys having trouble to get it running and if not then give it up as a bad cause

nice to hear that Coffin.Filler got it's copy working. Just wanted to add that C:/ Programfiles/1 C company/You are empty location may not be always needed. I installed it freely to another drive (and with that ofcourse to another partition).
But he has point. There are some very stupid installers. I had problems with Condemned: Criminal Origins (it installs so big files it needs NTFS but there are no info about it), Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (check default drive C: free space BEFORE i can choose location and don't allow proceeding to choose another location. if there are free space u can choose whatever location) etc.

My god, I got this problem (stuck after choosing the difficult/title screen). Worked for me turning off my firewall.
Thanks for the info 'Coffin.Filler'.
Btw, I installed in another folder too, the problem was the EXE trying to connect my internet, go understand this sh@t
