Yep these pics don't reveal much. We'll have to wait for real screenshots and motion.
I'm not a graphic whore but I like good looking graphics too as anyone do. I don't think it's ugly anyway.

Looks pretty nice. There could definitely be a really cool, unique game going on there. Can't wait to hear more at E3...

Hey genius, what else is there to do in a GFX engine discussion thread other than to discuss or bitch about engine's GFX?

yeah the engine is impressive if you read what it can do. nobody denying plastic like texture models but given the ease of use this engine is meant to deliver im sure it can be made pretty realistic with the right devs behind a particular game.
dont knock it until you see games using it. this brings us omne step closer to the dream of pixar like gfx in games. now that would be awesome.

Thank you, but it's been already posted.
Anyway, can anyone explain their love for Mac? Sorry, but I don't get it at all. Or may be I missed something and Mac is the next gaming platform.

[quote="Vodka-Redbull"][quote="swebarb"]Have in mind that they did that tech demo in 10 days.. can you imagine any other developer do this in that time? no nobody. Here is a video of the engine in motion..

That's a cross-platform communication trick. Nothing more.

they have allready dual cores and Ati cards , and you can install windows even vista on them
so you can say MACs are more and more becoming a gaming platform

well, im NOT a crysis fanboy that instinctively thinks everything NOT created by crytek sucks, BUT i gotta say, that little demo didnt exactly blow me away when compared to the stuff i have seen in crysis (and other graphically amazing games coming up like alan wake and bioshock)
i mean yeah, this was a quick and early tech demo, so you cant really write off the engine as rubbish, especially given that its coming from ID, but i dunno... i expected something a little more i guess? but again... early tech demo... im sure the game theyre working on is going to look pretty f**king amazing when its done... just hope my pc is going to be up to the challenge when they roll it out

The thing he said about building the basics and be able to change whatever you want on the maps and not have to worry about performance issues and alof coding that must save them alot of time.

The game that iD release using this engine will be average.
However iD are more of a Game Engine Developer than a Game Developer. The bulk of thier revenue comes from people licensing the engine. Doom 3 was an average game, not poor by any means, but average.
Quake 4 again was average (but wasnt done by iD, it was done by Raven)
Prey was awesome IMO and showed what could be done with the Doom 3 Engine.
This Engine will be the same, the iD Game will be average and then later down the line you will see some awesome games using this tech. iD will far from fail with this thats for sure...
Also did you check out the physics on the guy's hat with all the stuff dangleing off it .. I thought that was pretty good too.

Whats with Carmack in that video? Next generation technology and next generation game my ass. Now its even he who started to talk that next generation bullshit. I realy thought he would stay away from those cheap public relations stunts.
