Whats the logic in it as in 95% of the infos the filename is given.
Asking for a file name isnt requesting warez and in noway puts the board at risk.
I wasnt aware of rule 3 before but it was pointed out to me here :

Now that you ask the question I'm not sure...why wouldn't you be able to ask a filename??? It's just a filename and it's not telling you where to get it.
If a filename is not allowed then all the other we're doing here shouldn't be allowed too.
It should be possible in my opinion...maybe [mrt] can give a definite answer...

I always thought it was the Directory Name we disallowed...
As mentioned, 95% of NFO's have the Filename listed, pointless rule IMO as the question should rarely be asked.

bollox ! as stated 95% of the infos contain the filename.
Also if people do ask nobody is forcing you to reply and its certainly not puting the board in any danger. |

95% of nfos?! More like 25% and that's being generous. Just to test I clicked the first few links and a few other random ones on the main page and not one of them had the filename in them.
It does adversely affect the board because it means threads get more cluttered. They are already full of enough useless shit without about 20 requests for the filename.

Boards are also for helping people and if someone asks a question that I can I can answer then I do.
Good job we arent all miserable R souls otherwise the board would be full of threads with zero replies .  |
