Excuse me if I sound sceptical. Big difference between a homebrew reverse-engineered API and it actually working in practice, 100% in all games...

actually the architecture in directd3d10 is meant to be working natively only with wddm's at vista.
so basically this driver is like an emulator which translates the dx10 ops to 9 (offline, not in real-time lik wine is doing with programs).

Well even if it may not be so impressive at the moment it is an interesting project and I'm sure the creator will learn new nifty ways to do his stuff. If he keeps the interest up we might very well see some good functionality of DirectX 10 in XP.
Sure it may never turn out to be as "good" as in Vista but it might be acceptable.
Behold his GLORY! Bow for the technical master!

i am not so interested in DX10 running on DX9 cards , but if they can get DX10 to work on XP with dx10 cards that would be great .

yeah, read it at ITavisen. I was like... if you are going to play a game, why the hell buy a mac. Well, they made Doom3 compatible with it.

What would the case be? I mean I can't doubt M$, they got the money to do pretty much anything but what are they doing that's illegal.
