Simply put, I'm putting together a new desktop system for myself and giving my fiance my current box which is pretty decent as well. I'm curious if anyone has any suggestions about better hardware for this box. Like, I'm no novice, I'm fairly well versed in my hardware. I like AMD over Intel, and Nvidia over ATI for personal reasons (Had some really bad experience with ATI and Intel both). I like Asus mobos, but I'm not set on it, same with EVGA. Prices are in Canadian. Any thoughts are more than welcome.

The case I bought though it was more expensive at the time. I can confirm it's high quality casing. Got pissed and punched the living shit out of it cause my memory fucked up (thought it was my new video card) well.....bruised and scraped up my knuckles and not even a blemish on the case.

Yea, I'm undecided as to whether or not I'll just get a shitty case or go all out on that one... what do you guys think of the rest of the hardware? Top notch shit or is there something that can be upgraded for not much money.

Problem is I hate everything that intel was, is, and will be. Like a 6000+ isn't beat by many processors if any in certain apps, and it is pretty top end. The difference between a top end core2duo and a 6000+ is pretty miniscule.
I think the system is really good, but I'm beginning to want SLI... any thoughts on worthwhileness of 2 8800GTS or 1 8800GTX

2 8800GTX's is way overkill especially since no DX10 games especially for the price. The GTX's aren't THAT much better benched against a GTS so your better off with those, especialyl since they produce less heat and use less power.

It was more of a question of the 2 8800GTS or 1 8800GTX. I couldn't afford 2 8800GTX atm

I've heard bad things about those video card PSU's. But I do plan on buying a 700w psu for my computer. It's looking like I'll rock the single GTX. I run at 1920x1080, which is considered a high resolution, but almost every game will run on that card at that resolution, and the day they stop, just buy a new second card and rock the SLI.

Get the nine-hundred case. Half the price and seems like better thermal design. Only comes in black, tho.

With the two intake 120mms, my cpu temp never went past 40c running orthos small ffts. With my old all-aluminum case I was topping out with that test at 50c. Also my GPU load temps went down 10c, only tops out at 60c now. Damn good case.
Besides that everything looks good.

Funny story, I had swapped that case on my order page just tonight and then i read that. The p180 is such a bitch to work in, I like the 900 because its a bit larger and less cramped looking.
