I'm so pissed off right now because my apple Cinema Display 23 inch just died, I bought it like 1.5 years ago and getting it fixed is going to cost almost as much as buying a new one, this is last fucking time i buy something from apple, every product i bought from them died before being 2yo, same happen to my bro and some friends.

Anyway Im looking for a nice screen to replace the apple, I dont play games a lot but I'm usualy quite picky with color calibration and accuracy, also design is important to me, this is the main reason i went for the apple screen and finaly I'm looking for 23inch or bigger.

So if you have any sugestion please post them here.

thx

Are LCDS good for gaming? Have they fixed the blurring/trailing effect?

I've never noticed a problem like that? The vast majority of users here use LCD

Ghosting effect is what I meant. Yeah- looks like times have changed..Nice monitor.

22" is $299..24" is $689...Probably why most buy 22 instead...

Man, I would definately get this if/when my 22'' NEC CRT goes down..

That is an awesome screen!, I use one like it at work - I don't think it's cheaper than the Samsung though, quite the contrary actually, but the image is so sharp you have to take care not cutting yourself on it Very Happy

I have the samsung 24" monitor and it is VERY nice. I do a lot of photo retouching/editing. . . not just for a hobby but as part of my living and I can tell you the color is simply outstanding on the 24".

Yeah... well I suppose I could hook my computer up to the plasma screen if wasn't mounted to the wall... hmmm.. Twisted Evil

Whats the max resolution you can run a computer at on an LCD Tv That size anyway? Like 1300 ish bt 700 ish?

I'll stick to my 1920 x 1200 24 incher. Would have liked to seen what 2500 x 1600 looks like though on that big ass 30 inch LCD computr monitor... was very close to getting it. Didn't think it would be comfortable to do my work on though and having to actually turn my head when I moved the cursor from one side of the screen to the other all day. For gaming though... would kick total ass.

I finaly received my new monitor yesterday, for those who don't know I went for a 24" Eizo:

http://www.eizo.com/products/lcd/S2411W/index.asp

So first impressions, well its big… I mean it's huge, my old apple cinema display was a 23" so this one is only 1" bigger still and don't ask me why but it seems much bigger not only from the outside but also when working on it.

Design wise its dfficult to beat apple, still I think it looks good in black not as sexy as the cinema diplay aluminium finish but for plastic it does not look cheap like the acer crap, one thing which a pain in the ass is the button which are touch sensitive and are hard to find in the dark. The stand is by far the best one I ever saw on a PC monitor you can basicaly put your monitor in any position you might want and also it can rotate which is nice.

Another cool feature is 2x DVI input so when the girlfriend feels like watching the local Pop idol or realty show I can plug the PS3 or DVD player in and do my things, it also has the now classic USB ports.

One thing I need to say is it's bright, my apple had now backlight and this one does, so when looking at a white backround like mirc for exemple makes it very bright and it takes time to get used to it, fortunately it's coming with an Util that let you do custom settings per app.

Talking about calibration it seems very accurate out of the box, since its suppose to be a *professional* display that’s the least you can expect but still its good to see that it was taken care of, I will anyway do a full calibration tonight and then comment on image quality, video playback and games.
