Jade Empire = Bioware's own Fable. I finished both on Xbox and they feel and play exactly the same way (with slight and minor differences). Remeber the Fable port? Liked it? Expect the same for JE.

Fable for PC was a perfect example of how ports should be made. Gameplay was great, controls with keyboard and mouse were great, technically perfect (no patch had to be released), graphics were up-to-date and the engine was optimised.

Moreover a significant amount of content was added, perfectly blending in story-wise. I loved it! Finished it twice!

I hope Bioware delivers ... I'm bored of the same ol' fantasy rpgs.

Don't know exactly what you are comparing.

But serious, the people who made the KOTOR xbox to PC transitions (never mind that they made the game) and you are worried? You obviously are not familiar with Bioware's PC products. Because if you ARE you should know the answer to 'Will they deliver'.

Bioware delivers besides the fact that they sold their soul to consoles. Ah well, we PC-gamers can finally enjoy an old RPG. Who needs an XBOX eh??? Same goes for Mass Effect, no XBOX no worries, it will come to the PC anyways in due time.

Also rushed in to report ign review but smurf is already ahead. So we wait.
Been looking forward for this one for some time now. Already plugged in my logitech rumblepad.
It is obvious it is going to be better with a console.

I'm kinda put off by this because of the Asian mythology part of it, but given the recent lack of good story oriented light RPGs I find myself getting excited about it Razz It is Bioware after all, can't go wrong with em Very Happy

Gamespot review out ( 7.8 ):
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/jadeempire/review.html?sid=6166271&tag=topslot;title;1

Quote:

Whether or not you should play Jade Empire: Special Edition entirely depends on whether you've already played it on the Xbox. If you have, the few additions and enhancements aren't worth another purchase since they don't add anything truly noteworthy, and unlike the Xbox-to-PC conversion of Fable, which extended that game by several hours, the PC and Xbox iterations of Jade Empire take the same 20 hours to complete. But if you missed it the first time around, the great story and fleshed-out setting make it well worth a look.

I didn´t played it on the xbox, I don´t have one Very Happy
I´ll sure check this one

I really loved the combat in KOTOR, is the combat the same in this, you can pause and give commands? Seems to be an ok game to play if the combat is like in KOTOR..

no, it's button mashing in Jade Empire. that's why I said previously that it's exactly like Fable

dunno why i have found fable repeated very fast...the opening of the game was promissing and cool, but too soon i felt like:go here, talk to that , clean the forest and repeat there.

for one or two times it was cool, but after that it was same again and again.

Well, JE is much much better in this aspect. And I really liked the pseudo non-linearity with several TOTALLY different ways to achieve something, influencing your alignment

sounds great then:)
i put my eyes on this game since it came out for the xbox, cause i like martial arts (specialy drunken kung fu)

and even if i am not the regular rpg player, i had a feeling i will find this one enjoyable, but back then..there was no word on pc version, and since pc version announce a year ago+- i was on the tail of the game..and finaly we are about to test it:)

i just hope no deley in the scene with this one...damn the new protections:(

i miss the old years with the stream of new releases every 2-3 weeks.

Beat it for the Xbox, in one night, and it was pretty .. dull in my opinion.

I enjoyed the end but the gameplay got fairly repetitive. I would recommend it though to those who are fiending for some releases, as it isn't a 'bad' game, just not exciting.
