					| |
					| I don't know you guys...but my pc can barealy handle the game when there are more than two sims together on screen.
My pc: Intel p4 2500, 512 mb ram, ati 9800 pro(latest cats). Default settings max everything up automatically, but my hd keeps making noises and the game is nowhere smooth. Even with low textures and details, House Parties are an horrible sight...everything stutters with an adorable "lag effect".

I know what I'm going to be told..."512 mb are a bottleneck to your vid card", and so on...but I ran Far Cry and Doom 3 with medium/high graphic and detail settings. They ran very smooth, and I do assume Sims 2 is not as heavy as those two monsters.

 Any clues?

					| Could it be the hd? I can hear my hd loading at every single move my Sims do...but maybe it's supposed to be like this...

					| I defragged the drive before installing Sims 2 for her,so that will not help much... But I think you are right about the ram thing,so im going to try putting another stick of 512 in the pc.

					| I don't think its a ram problem...I have 1.5 gigs of registered 3200 ram and thats not a problem. I think it has to do with some video card settings cuz my video card crashes and the game will crash and XP will give me a "DEVICE FAILIURE!" error (and there's only 8-bit color showing)....so I think there are some problems with DirectX 9.0c causing this.

					| I've heard form many people (including myself) experiencing poor game performance...
I have yet to see one with a NVIDIA card
 (I myself have a 9600XT)

My bet is that ATI's piss poor drivers a fucking our asses once more.
All this ass ramming is starting to hurt.

 Stutters badly at 800x600.

Trying different combos of drivers etc but still the same.
