x64 is a peice of shit. Still little to no driver support and its looking like its a year away before we start to see a stable community.

I returned 5 different wireless cards because there was no support from the manufacturer and next to no 3rd party stuff.

So the performance gains are all theoretical if drivers aren't optimized? Too bad- I was hoping to make the jump.

Vista doesn't really have any optimization for x64 (except the much larger memory support), nor does it need any. It is the drivers and software that need this optimization. True 64 bit computing is years away.

So the timer crack takes care of the 90-day "hidden" kill switch that is mentioned here:?

http://www.errorforum.com/microsoft-windows-vista-error/4919-hackers-brake-vista-anti-piracy-technology.html

If it's really a counter and doesn't look to the system date or something, then how can anyone know for sure that it is defeated until 90 days pass from the RTM release?

That's sorta scary. Im researching it now. But honestly, I foresee within 90 days that this should be cracked, or a way to make the OS think its been validated.

I believe the post specifies it is besides the regular vista timer. It's another anti piracy technique by microsoft, and a brilliant one. No way to check anything until the 90 days

Wow. Lot's of new updates available...

Can someone either tell me which (if any) are going to put my AntiWPA crack in jeopardy orrrr forward me to these AntiWPA forums that I was referred to earlier (I had no luck googling them... unless I was looking at them and just didn't realize it).

Thanks!

People are saying that you can legally extend the grace period of vista for 90 days but after that it goes kerpoof. Wonder if theres a backup kerpoofer that MS put in.

I've completely disabled windows update with Vista Manager. It can't even connect to check for updates, I'm too paranoid. Also I don't really care about any of the preliminary updates until a ton of them add up and are released as a package like Autopatcher XP.

I agree we should close this thread and open another one, with once and for all the useful infos -asked for everyday since a month- as a sticky...

BTW I have not see any Dreamscene (animated desktop) update downloadable within the Ultimate Extras, do the people that have activated Vista got it? ty.

Don't even try to find logic in those comments... I stopped a while ago. You may have noticed I don't even try to help anymore. It's like suddenly there's a rise in the noobs around this thread.

Well, that's what I try to do with my quote on each page. Doesn't help... Idiots still ask same qustions that were asked five posts earlier. About DreamScene, I don't think it's out yet. 31st is my guess.
