i think they are quite well done... id rate saw 2 at a 7, 1 at a 6.5, 3 and a 6.. theyre all good, but id never say they were brilliant.

I always thought the first one was brilliant. Not brilliant like a good drama movie or a classic, but brilliant as a horror/thriller movie. It had all the right elements and a good pace, which made it suspenseful and scary, with some nice twist plots along the way.
Then came the second one, dropped all the suspenseful and scary moments in favour of more blood. Heck, the movie wasn't even supposed to be Saw 2, there never was supposed to be a sequel. Darren Lynn Bousman was writing on a script called "The Desperate". When Saw went bigtime on Sundance if was decided that they should captalize on its success, so Bousman receive a call from the producers and was asked to change his script around to "Saw 2". Horrid story, and worst of all, not suspenseful as the first Saw.
Now I haven't seen Saw 3, but I will get around to it eventually when I am bored. But I expect it to be worse than Saw 2.

Seems like the 3 movies are just competing with each other on which one has the most fucked up killing devices. Ridiculous
