So i've been bouldering with my buddies today, and these two young girls age about 6 and 8 come by and try on one of the easier climbs. The older girl got maybe her hight up or so, and the younger starts to climb right under her. And this is just something you don't do, because obviously the one who's higher can slip and if she falls they both can get hurt. So my friend picks the younger one up and moves her aside. She calmly goes to her father who's 20 or so meters away and is, of course, completly oblivious to what's going on. Then she starts crying like a little girl, and pointing at us and saying something in German which sounded very much like what Hitler used to say to get all the germans to hate the jews (I could be wrong though, but I think it was a passage from Mein Kampf). At any rate, this father-figure gives us - "oh, so you boys are pedofiles look", and goes toward us with full intent to give us a piece of his mind. Well, he chickens out at the end; but stands there watching us, asif we are just hade a bukkake fest with his innocent little girl, untill we left.
END OF RANT, Conclusion: kids are fucked up.

No shit man. Kids are fine until they are 4. After that they are just very annoying. And the youngest one is always easier to learn stuff.
I bet my ass i had more respect for older kids when i was 7-8. Kids (at least in Norway) have no respect/disipline for teachers, other students (of course its not all of them, but you see my picture)

PoorLeno what you fail to realize is that you don't pick up someone else's kid. You don't TOUCH any kid unless that kid is in immediate risk of death or serious injury (of which by your description that was not the case).
Tell YOUR friend to "use his words like a big kid" next time. Warn the dad or speak to the kids. Don't touch.
Parents teach their kids about the dangers of strangers and that kid reacted as they should. You guys acted in a strange manner (no matter how good your intentions were).

A simple "watch you don't hurt yourself" would have been the correct thing to do.

I disagree. I get the feeling that the father thought he was admonishing his daughter. In an innocent situation like that, I would hate my daughter to be told off even though it didn't appear to be like that to his friend.
He could have went to the father assuming he knew who he was, and warned him of the slight danger.

Well, we did tell them to discontinue what they were doing several times. However, they were apparently german, and didn't understand or didn't care or mind whatever we were saying. And since they didn't say anything, we couldn't tell them off in german either.
And another thing, this notion of slight danger is totally wrong. While bouldering you essentially climb a small rock or in our case a simulated rock. That the rock is small makes it relativly safe for children, however even if you "complete" the course, you are supposed to come down somehow. And most people just jump. And getting your 2 or so years older sister on top of your head doesn't sound like a very good idea to me. Essentialy, the girl on top would have to notice the girl below, tell her to get out of the way, wait for her to do it while hanging to whatever piece she was happily holding on to without her strength giving out and only then jump herself. That's not even assuming that the girl on top could just fall at some point - since the whole idea of bouldering is hard problems - you fall hell of a lot.
I don't get some of you who say that stangers shouldn't ever touch kids. Do you really want strangers to hesitate when your kid is doind something stupid, just because the scociety today is this rotten?
Once I was on a train home, and since it was rushour there were a lot of people. Right, so this kid (age 10?) is sitting on the left, and I'm sitting on the right. About 4-5 people between us. And this kid gets a bottle of pills and starts to eat them one after another. Now I have no idea what was going on, but I died a little that day, because nobody said anything. And to this day I feel guilty that I didn't enquire if those pills were just gum or whatnot, and if they weren't call his parents and tell them what was going on. I would, and do, hate living in this world where nobody wants to take responsibility where they can in fear that they they attention would be taken wrong.
So, Jenni, would you really want your kids to be all by themselves or in the hands of stangers?

I hate when kids run in the street with their heads turned anywhere but not the front, and you always have to get out of their way to not to piss off their parents if they bump into me.
