|
 |
Ok....I have learned that it is much cheaper to buy the separate parts on the Net and then have someone build the computer.
The place I went to told me to buy everything and they will build for $150.00.
I need all the materials...but these are some of my required things:
2 Gig ddr2 memory
8800 GTX nvidia card (so it will be DX10 capatible)
Intel Core 2 duo (E6600) processor
700 w power supply
2 250 gig HD or 1 500 gig HD
The problem is that there are so many brands/versions of these (besides the processor and video card), I don't know what brands/models to choose.
Can someone give me some ideas on specifics parts to buy on the net.
I also need a case, dvd burner, motherboard, etc.
Any help would be appreciated...this is giving me a headache.
I did find a place on the net to build a system like the above for around $2500.00 but ibuypower.com does not have the best reviews. Rather not take a chance....
thanks for all the help.

Build it yourself, trust me it is not hard at all. DFI or ASUS for the motherboard, OCZ, GSKILL, Corsair, and Crucial are all good RAM manufactures. I have a OCZ Game extreme 700watt PSU and am very pleased with it. I would suggest getting a Western Digital Raptor HD as well. The case is your prefrence just look around on the net and see what you like. I would also suggest doing some research on whatever you want to get just to make sure everything will work together and will do what you want. Here is a link to help you learn to build it yourself

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one

just a question why go for a 700watt? if u gonna use 1 card only 500watt is enough, and if u gonna use 2 high end cards 700watt is not enough..
btw here's my dreamed config:
case: thermaltake mozart tx
psu: tagan 550w
processor: intel core 2 duo E6600
cpu cooler: gigabyte 3d
motherboard: asus nforce 680i
ram: corsair 2x1 gb ddr2 twinx
graphic card: point of view geforce 8800gtx
sound card: no need
mouse,keyboard, speakers: low cost stuff.
19 or 21 inch screen, but i dont need.
not top of line, but less costly and performant enough (overcloking is easy)
i'll still wait for 1st quarter 2007 : xmas promotions + new quadcores will drop the prices of cpus. not to mention updated bios and nvidia drivers.

Just buy it and be happy.
Put it this way I build my new rig (the one in my sig) yesterday managed to play 3 minutes of CoD 2 and my Brand new Enermax started buzzing and screeching, I have that system built and ready I just cant fucking play on it.
